Bella Beauty Clip Free Curling Wand (Teal)

If I could give negative stars, I would!!! I ORDERED RED, blue came! I ORDERED BRAND NEW, clearly this is USED!!! the black tio has scratches where the black is missing, the box is clearly opened and taped back together on the inside AND THERE WAS A HAIR IN THE BOX. ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? I'm supposed to be giving this as a Gift!!!!

Some people have a hard time using a curling wand without a clip. I find it's easier to use than the clip models and there are no crimp marks from the clamp. You simply wind the hair on the rod and hold the tip of the hair with two fingers. It does take some practice though. The glove that came with this wand is useless but I have enough practice that I don't really need it. I bought this at TJ Maxx for $16 so this price on Amazon is really inflated, just FYI. This seems to be a good brand and the heat is hot enough to make the waves last even into the next day. My hair is layered and it's a bit tricky to get all the hair wound onto the rod. The secret is doing it in sections, where each group of layers is its own section. This way there aren't a bunch of little hairs that fail to twist onto the rod. It takes a bit longer to do it this way, but this method insures that each hair group gets curled. My hair is shoulder length and it takes about 15 minutes to do my entire head. I have a large barreled iron (1 1/2 inch) that gives me beachy waves but when I want a tighter curl I use the Bella iron. My hair is notoriously hard to curl and yet the heat is sufficient in this curling iron to give me long-lasting curls. I let each section stay on the iron for a count of 30. Less than this and the curls don't last. This iron does a spiral curl and for variation you can wind the hair to the left and do the next one to the right. This gives a less "perfect" look. All in all, I'm glad I purchased this iron. I like the auto shut off feature, since I don't want to burn the house down. I'm giving it four stars instead of five because I would prefer adjustable heat. The box says the temperature is 400 degrees, but I have an iron that goes up to 450, which I love. A little more heat would be a good thing and for those with fine hair, being able to dial it down would be an improvement. Before you buy on Amazon, check out the discount stores. The last time I was in TJ Maxx they had numerous Bella irons. Oh, and it doesn't take but a few minutes for this iron to heat up, which I appreciate because I'm almost always in a rush. I recommend this iron, but not at the Amazon price point.

I got this used at Goodwill for $4. I cleaned it really good before using it and it is amazing! I have very thick, long, course and damaged hair that is very hard to style. This wand definitely makes it easy and my curls last all day and into the next. I absolutely love this thing. Totally worth the amazon price :)
