I use this with sailrite fabric and rope. It cuts well and is very hot.There is a bit of a learning curve to using it, so practice on spare fabric if your fabric is expensive!

After search through most of the similar item and many reviews, I settled on this unit. Many of the other units in this price range were of lesser wattage and this unit give me more bang for the buck. I've used it to cut a 7 foot "Ruggable", two piece carpet runner, and it sliced through it like butter. I'm really impressed by the clean cut it made, and how quickly it heated up. Using the 3 second on/off protocol worked well, as the blade stays hot enough to slide back and touch up the cut if needed, and left a clean, sealed edge. I also rounded off the corners of a smaller throw rug that our new puppy chewed up and turned a throwaway into an extended lifespan. All in all a great product.

Heats fast, cuts clean. Would have liked if it came with a spare cutting tip instead of a stand. Happy with my purchase.

This suckered gets hot! Fast! I had been using a subpar product before purchasing this and I was overjoyed when I cut sunbrella with this the first time. It took me a second to realize that it was adjustable too! Heat up time is virtually non existent and it even comes with a protective case and cleaning brush to keep it nice. The cord was very long also and I only needed an extention on one part of my project. I liked it more than my friends knife from sailrite! Sorry guys!

The media could not be loaded. Whoa, I was not prepared for how well this thing works. I cut rope often, and, it's a pain... Always fraying. This knife heats up INSTANTLY, and cut's clean through, leaving a sealed end. If you work with rope, this is a MUST HAVE. Don't take my word for it. Check out my video!

Last 2 months of intermittent use then quit heating. No warranty on it.

I made some cushions made of sun resistant polyester which was great but raveled terribly. This was easy for cutting and sealing edges.

Well at first look all the body parts fit well and was nicely presented in a blow moulded case....it has a comfortable grip and easy trigger....with ample wattage to cut anchor rope and rigging for my canoes and kayaks....tried it out while making some paracord bracelets and some other stuff it performed very well...also took it over to a friend's to compare to her one she cuts fabric with it performed as well as her expensive one for cutting fabric and better cause it's air cooled
