for Raspberry Pi 4 TFT 3.5 inch Touch Screen with Case, Mini Cooling Fan and Heatsink, 480x320 Resolution 60fps Monitor LCD Display

Hey if you need a "minimal" screen and case, this thing is perfect considering that it's about the same price as a case without the screen. There's another similar model being sold on Amazon, and this one is better because the plastic around the power and HDMI ports is thinner, making it easier to insert the plugs. There's also some additional venting, although the utility is up for debate since these things barely need active cooling. The driver for the screen is pretty straightforward to install (although honestly it should come with Debian package files but this isn't a perfect world). The heat sinks attach with simple gooey tape (some others use foam tape which baffles me because it's generally an insulator), and once assembled the case holds together pretty well. There's just enough room cut out around the sdcard socket to be able to get the thing out if you use a bit of fingernail. The images show the screen being used with a stylus, which is how you'll use it. It's not sensitive enough to be readily useful with a fingertip, but it does at least work. It doesn't seem to be bothered by having a repurposed cell phone screen protector put on.

This does not work for pi 4. The package does not have the proper screws to hold the fan down. the instructions are conflicting and misleading in regards to how to mount the fan. The case does not snap together and keeps falling apart, but the best part is, you can not install this. The screen turns on with the proper drivers installed but then gets stuck on the splash screen trying to load "sp.local." 32bit has been installed as well and still no luck. countless hours wasted for this.

The case included a piece that could be used if I didn't want the display. The instructions went very smoothly. This is really for someone that wants to play retro pie, recallbox or in my case write programs to a very nice portable display. I think my price was very cheap considering this had a display, touchscreen, case, touch pen and screwdriver. When Setting up the software, I skipped hooking up an HDMI display and just did an ssh RPI4.local, then I picked up the instructions to the point where a terminal was opened. Another thing I did was use Ctrl+Shift+X from the Raspberry Pi Imager software running on another raspberry pi. I set the hostname and enabled ssh. Then, the image placed on the micro SD card allowed me to turn on the device and ssh directly without attaching an HDMI cable to a TV. Nice.

It works pretty well, but my issue isn't the screen. If you want to make your pi compact and almost like a mini laptop sort of set up it works well, though it is a little hard to manage different windows because they normally open larger than the 480x320 resolution, and right after installing the driver or premade OS you can't use the HDMI port. You have to edit the Raspi.config file on your sdcard on another computer to make the screen/hdmi resolution 640x480 or 800x480. So I will say while it does work, you do have to know a bit about working with the Pi OS files to get it running how you want, but at least the online instructions help you greatly. HOWEVER! It's already stated in the description of the product that this screen's drivers only work in Raspian Buster, which is not a new OS, its from 2019, you may not be able to run most of the newer software because the newer Raspian Bookworm OS does not work at this time. The online instructions do provide different premade OS's so it is easy to get and image Raspian Buster to the Pi's SD card, but this OS is only 32Bit meaning 64bit programs do not run, like Darktable for instance. There are other premade OS's like Ubuntu 64 and 32 that I have yet to try, but it is unfortunate that the drivers are not up to date. At the very least, there are apps that do work fine with Buster so if the project i'm working on doesn't end up working out because of the OS issues, then I can at least turn this pi into a mini NAS but, still its unfortunate the drivers aren't updated.

use with my pi 4 just wish it had a cover for the screen.. cause i use it outside in my bag...

Añadiendo el SBC el equipo es excelente a la hora del uso. El abanico que está incluido para el ensamblaje es un poco ruidoso, emite más sonido que otro abanicos que he utilizado. Otro detalle qué hay que tener en cuenta, el driver para la pantalla si tarda bastante en bajar, hay que tener conocimiento básico en sistemas o saber buscar buenas referencias para encontrar opciones para obtener dicho driver. Fuera de esto estoy completamente satisfecho con la compra

Very poor quality product. Can't get it to work correctly with installing multiple versions of Linux for RPi and the correct drivers each time.
