The vanilla is good, unflavored is okay
I've purchased both the unflavored and the vanilla. Both are good in terms of how they blend, this protein powder is very smooth and blends well. Neither have a gritty or chalky taste. The unflavored - not only is it unflavored but it will suck the flavor out of anything you put it in. This was my first time using an unflavored protein powder so maybe this is normal. I found myself having to add ingredients to smoothies to bring the flavor back which kind of defeats the purpose. I'm sure it has its uses, but I went with the vanilla for my next order. The vanilla - very good. I've had it mixed with smoothies and just in a shaker with almond milk on its own. The taste is fine, reminds me of sugar free vanilla pudding. You get a decent amount of protein for the calories, which is hard to do with plant proteins. All in all I recommend this brand, just be mindful of the unflavored.

Tasteless and Filling
So much better than expected! My 1st plant protien experience. It doesn't taste bad. Its doesn't really taste like anything. Even though I got the unflavored, I thought it would taste bad or make my smoothies taste odd. I can hardly tell. Its a tad chalky but not nearly as bad as other protien powders. Also kept me full for hours after drinking. Will be buying again.

Love Sunwarrior Protein.
The absolute best on the market. Quality. Purity. Flavor. Vegan. Organic. Blends easy. I’m an avid runner. Former world record runner. I use this when competing and when I’m not training. Fills in the gaps in my nutrition. Gives me more power. Boosts protein and iron. And dozens of other nutrients. Even if you’re not an athlete. This should be part of your daily routine. And if your losing body fat, this is a must to give you nutrients you need with just a few calories. Add to bullet mixer with juice, greens and fruit and Sunwarrior protein. You have a perfect meal. Best flavor on market. Not chalky, No after taste like so many other cheaper brands.

Disappointing
It said this should have no taste and dissolve with no grainy feeling, but it didn’t do that. It had no discernible taste like vanilla or chocolate or something, but it changed the taste of my drink. It didn’t dissolve and left a grainy film in my mouth. I tried to return it but because it was open they wouldn’t take it back, so now I’m stuck with a giant container of it.

Better than Orgain but can be hard to swallow with how chalky it is.
I almost choked the first having this so it is very serious for anyone who is buying this that it doesnt dissolve like whey protein or even Orgain plant based protein. This brand has a ton of fiber strands when mixed causing what others refer as chalkiness. I did the two normal scoops for most protein powders the first time i had it and it was incredibly hard to sip comfortably. I only do 1 scoop now for a 20oz smoothie with a ton of liquid. I think the nutrition profile is much better than Orgain since i needed something to give me vegetarian iron. Orgain has so much filler so i found this as an alternative but i find it very expensive for vegetarian protein when it’s made from peas and some hemp. It’s much easier to restore my iron levels as a vegetarian with this protein powder if i have a fruit with vitamin c blended with it and adding a full fat milk like coconut milk. It’ll probably get my iron levels back to normal in a few months if i have this protein powder twice a day. It is worth the price from a health stand point because it has no fillers. I wouldnt be able to use Orgain protein powder for the long-term because of how heavily processed it is so I find this is an okay alternative, but it could be better for the price they are charging (less grainy, more mild pea taste).

Ok
Good, but very expensive for the amount that you get

Super happy with it
I was worried about the taste of this protein powder based on some of the reviews, but I was impressed with the ingredients so I tried it anyway and I’m glad I did. I don’t know if it’s the other things I put in my shake or the fact that I blended it with a Nutribullet but it came really good and smooth. It does have an earthy flavor but I don’t mind it at all. I’m happy to have a protein powder that does not taste artificially sweet. For reference the other things I put in my shake are ground sesame seeds, ground sunflower kernels, a banana, and water. The seeds already give my shake a bit of an earthy flavor so I may be partial to that sort of taste. But this was very satisfying and the protein powder helped keep me full. After using whey protein for way too long I realize that this treats me much better. No digestive issues, no stuffy nose. It took me a long time to realize that the whey protein was giving me those symptoms. So if you’re looking for a vegan protein powder with a not so sweet flavor, I recommend this one!

Chunky & Messy
The Good: protein tastes “okay” if mixing with something else with flavor (e.g., Vanilla flavored almond milk, etc). Also, lots of (claimed) protein per serving. Great for lactose intolerant folks or those who don’t want to use milk-based products. The Bad: there’s no flavor (at least the vanilla mix), it’s nearly impossible to make a shake without massive chunks either floating or stuck to the sides of a cup if you’re only using milk/water and a shaker cup, and...a LOT of the protein mix falls onto the countertop when transferring the scoop from the container to a blender/shaker cup/etc. No matter how carefully you try there will be protein mix spilled - every single time. I’ve never encountered this before with a protein powder. It’s the complete opposite of something like Isopure which is very fine and practically disappears when mixing - even with water. This means that extra protein is needed for each shake if you’re counting the grams per day - good for the company, not so great for the user. To recap, if you don’t mind cleaning the counter after each use, and having tons of unmixed chunks in every shake (using a shaker cup) then you’re good to go. If you’re the type that has 20+ minutes to cut fresh fruit, clean your entire countertop, and then wash out your blender, etc., then the above mentioned things probably won’t matter much to you. I personally like something I can mix quickly for the sake of getting additional protein in my diet without a lot of fuss as well as knowing exactly how much protein I’m actually putting into my shaker cup. Hopefully this explains the mediocre rating.
