This microphone is very smooth and detailed, it's good for pop vocals or ballad vocals, I recommend getting a really good pop filter and enhance the quality even more, overall, I definitely recommend this microphone for it's price range, cheers.

SE2200 Vocal microphone Due to the pandemic all the planned work I had like many others is on hold, but I did try my own voice out on this microphone and spent some time looking it over and trying out the different pick up patterns so here is my conclusions. Build quality is very good it has a good weight to the body which is desirable in this style of microphone as this helps to dampen unwanted noise, it as amazing good looks and looks good enough to put in front of any talent even if on camera, I would be proud to show this of as it looks so beautiful maybe I’m falling in love, OK enough of that and yes I am a bit of a mic nerd!. But being a mic nerd means I did not have to carry out any controlled testing as I have years of experience you know as soon as you hear a mic right away how it will generally perform and you will be able to find lots of YouTube video reviews on both this mic and it’s sister models. I already own some SE microphones so have grown to trust this brand and the SE2200 did not disappoint, I was very pleased both with the build quality and the sound in all 3 patterns which are; Cardioid, Omni, and figure of eight the first had the expected proximity effect but they are high pass filters to help control this and did I mention it comes with a pop filter, well this reduces pops, next the omni setting considering it’s not a true omni mic gave a very flat response with no noticeable drop of from any direction, and the figure of eight works a bit like 2 cardioid's back to back and I was very pleased at the high rejection ratio in the figure eight dead spot which could work well in a live situation by careful placement. Although I do own some SE mics I also own many other well known brands so I am not biased towards this brand but you do get high value for the money, the down side is they are often constructed out of lighter materials compared to some top brands, I have already dented the mesh grill on my kick drum mic that said the mesh on the SE2200 feels strong. Finally the SE2200 will mostly be used for vocals but I reckon it will work for many types of instruments such as you could use this along with a good pencil mic and pair them up to record an acoustic guitar, as always we hear things a little bit different so how we perceive sound will differ from person to person and for that reason if you have bought this microphone, spend time experimenting with position and distance and learn it’s characteristics to get the best from it also pair it with good quality recording gear as budget equipment will not show off this mics true potential.

Great quality and packaging. clean metal pop filter. Compression fitting doesn't sit square when clamping on the microphone. Wish the threaded portion of the iso cage had the ability to rotate where the hinge is. Depending on your mic arm you may have to play around to get it in position

This is an excellent microphone. I like everything about it. It comes in a cardboard box with formed foam, and you can put the microphone back in the box when it is not being used. It is obviously very high-quality. I use the microphone for recording acoustic guitar and vocals. If you position the microphone 4 feet away at 45°, pointed at an angle at the guitar, the sound is excellent. The part of the microphone that attaches to the stand is easy to use. One note: there is a screw screwed into the plastic fitting that attaches to the stand. If you cannot figure out how to adapt this piece to your microphone stand, look for that screw, which can be removed to create a different fitting. I put the microphone away in the box when not using it so that it does not gather dust. It is extremely easy to put together and put away. Another thought (most people already know), remember to plug the microphone in completely before powering up your audio adapter, and to fully power down the audio adapter before unplugging the microphone. I turn the volume down on the audio adapter, turn off the audio adapter, and then unplug the microphone. Hope this helps. I’m giving this microphone five stars. I would buy it again in a minute.
