Asus zenbook flip: pretty darned good
This is a small machine with a small keyboard. As with other small keyboards, you give up some functionality. For example, you can get page up, page down, home and end, but you have to use the function key to do it. This is not a good choice for numeric data entry since numbers are only on the top row. The cramped size also has me mis-typing frequently, but I expect that this will improve with time. No evidence of sponginess in the middle. The two cons for the keyboard are the lack of a backlight, and a propensity for the keyboard to respond to slight movements on my lap by locking up--part of the process for switching to tablet mode. Hopefully I will be able to turn that off. This is OK for reports, notes and emails. If I were writing larger documents, I'd want to use an external keyboard. There is an adequate number of ports; the card reader does not allow for the card to fully recess, and when it sticks out, it catches on things. But you can purchase a raspberry card reader and use it with a micro card, to solve that problem. The screen is outstanding, and came well set up from the factory. With 8G of ram and a half terabyte solid state drive it makes short work of spread sheets. I get about 4-5 hours streaming movies, with no power saving options turned on. It runs cool The small form factor and lightI weight make it easy to carry and I can just park it on the arm of my Morris chair and work or watch movies. I have two Yogas and this compares positively with them for about half the price. No machine is perfect, especially with these small machines, where compromise is the name of the game. Asus has done an excellent job in creating a machine that would be excellent for general business use, college, or home use,

Nice Product, Terrible Customer Service
Product is actually quite nice - some issues, but in general a good purchase. Quality and service on the otherhand are horrendous. My only 2 complaints about the device itself would be that keyboard was both springy and unlit, and audio was a little weak. However, battery-life was great, and screen was nice. The real issues started about 3 months in when the front-panel microphones (essential for Skype calls, etc) stopped working. After hours on the phone with ASUS tech support, the product was sent to their repair facility. 2 weeks later it arrived back - microphones still not working, and also dented lid, plus wrinkled touchpad (seriously). After sending the product to the repair facility for the second time along with detailed background and hsitory, I was hopeful. Unfortunately, after another 2 weeks, they dissapointed again - microphones STILL not working, dents fixed, touchpad replaced but completely misaligned. What a bunch or morons. How can ASUS trust their brand to thrid-party repair facilities like this ? Ended up giving up on ASUS and getting refund from Amazon. Great work Amazon - buy at your own risk with ASUS - be warned.

Great for mobility as a software developer running Linux on it
More than 2 years in, still using as my main machine. Kinda slow for part of my use, but nevertheless ultra-portable-cheap Linux. Right now running Firefox with 100+ tabs, Android Dev Studio, PHP development, Apache, MySQL, MySQLWorkbench... Geany, Postman... it's incredible what a small machine can do with Linux. --- Running Linux Ubuntu 16.04 without any hacks perfectly. I'm a software developer running heavy applications like Netbeans, Android Studio, MySQL, PHP, compilers and editors, etc and it's crazy fast. Replaced Chrome by Firefox to optimize memory usage and it's very good. The computer is incredibly lightweight and battery lasts for hours. This is now my main computer, where I use 2 HPs and one MacTrash PRO. This one is better than all others. Since I type on different keyboards, the only thing that I miss on this computer is the backlit keyboard. Don't forget to buy a USB Hub with Ethernet, since this computer does not have an ethernet port.

Solid mid-range ultra book - not outstanding but gets the job done.
As I view laptops as commodity items, this will be brief and to the point, I'm not going to give a lecture on how IT smart I am. POSITIVES: It is a light, 'fairly well built' utility computer with a reasonably sized SSHD, performance is fine for light business work (Office Productivity) and even some lighter image management work. It is 'fan-less' and though I have not yet challenged claims made on battery life, I'm optimistic it should be satisfactory. CONCERNS: NO BACK-LIT Keyboard - quips about knowing how to type are a little irrelevant, I like a back-lit keyboard. I also like the I7 processor family and prior experience with M series notebooks was not great, but - so far this device has performed well. I feel the screen is a tad fragile to be 'a robust touch-screen unit' - but I rarely use these features, so I'm not that concerned - others may use this more as a tablet device, if so I'd be more critical. SUMMARY: Middle range utility device, nice to travel with, good value.

Good product, glaring error in keyboard/touch
Purchased it during the holiday season, and expected a lot from this. Whilst the laptop functioned great, one of the reasons I purchased this was for travel portability. It is light-weight and has great slick features, but there is a glaring problem. The keyboard and touch-display wont work properly unless its on a flat surface! That means to operate it while travelling, you need a desk or something. Doesn't impress me when I try to type some characters, the laptop doesn't even display anything and on the rare occasions that it does, it skips characters. Pretty unusable and a pity, since I spent loads of time researching and finally chose this.

Excellent little machine. Fast to open and within seconds it's up and running thanks to SSD drive. Lightweight though not as my old Sony Vaio Pro. 2 in 1 options is useful so does touch screen.

Buen equipo, buen hardware, diseño hermoso. Lo único que no me termina de convencer fue el precio, pero tampoco es que esté caro y Amazon me ha acostumbrado a buenas oportunidades.
