Works well on older lamps.
I bought this item to replace the switch on an old desk lamp I could not part with. They just don't make lamps like this anymore. I tried another one, but it was for more modern lamps with thinner cords. The cord on my lamp was much thicker. I used this switch SPT-2 and it is good as new. I couldn't be happier..

EASY PEASY REPLACEMENT + VALUE FOR $
Received this rotary switch replacement from Amazon earlier in the week, and installed it on a vintage 90s era stained-glass lamp today: as the original rotary switch had come loose what with the nut (which is supposed to stay attached normally) having fallen out, followed by the plastic breaking when said rotary switch case cover hit the hardwood floor. SO easy! All you need is a small Phillips head screwdriver to fasten the new rotary switch case on to the lamp cord, plus the price point was the best value compared to others I had searched on Amazon. See my attached video. RECOMMEND

Works as expected
I put this on my hanging lamp for convenience. Works great. Easy to install.

One for One Swap, Piece of Cake!
This worked as a one for one swap on a standard size 14/16 gauge lamp power cord. In fact, I only replaced the half with the vampire taps and rotary switch to effect the needed repair. One side of the metal vampire tap on our old switch had broken off due to wear. I highly recommend this switch as a quality replacement, or new install.

Doesn't fit wire sizes bigger than 18-2
Doesn't work with standard lamp cord which is 16 gauge not 18 gauge as stated in description. Once installed the thickness of the wire plus insulation prevents the control wheel from turning at all. Loosening the screw helps somewhat, but the wheel is still very difficult to turn, and you run the risk of an open circuit or having the screw fall out and the switch halves separating, exposing live wires.

Easy to install, and better than the original one that broke.
Excellent! Better than the one on the original $600 lamp. Hubby said it was a cinch to install.

I had to replace the switch on my warmer because it was broken... This one fits perfectly and it works! It was delievered fast.
