We recently enjoyed a wonderful trip to Amsterdam. Our stay was enhanced by information and recommendations included in this book. It was well organized and covered all areas of interest. I always read Fodor's guides before embarking on a trip to return home with maximum benefits.

Fodor's guides are always the best in my opinion although hard to get in the UK. Well written with everything you need to know when travelling to a new destination.

This book is ideal for travellers who have never been to Amsterdam. It is very helpful in directing the reader to various points of interest. To the seasoned traveller to Amsterdam the book is a bit touristy and crams much information into a small space. A little more information about historical sites and some of the museums' collections would be appreciated. All in a 4 star rating.

I used Fodor and quite liked it, but again, this book is full of mistakes. There are mistakes in the content, e.g. the reason why the buildings in Amsterdam are often leaning is wrong. Then there is a section about craft beer in Amsterdam and the picture with the text is displaying Bavarian beer. Come on, that is just very lazy. There are formatting mistakes. The general information given about Amsterdam is poor - a history section would be handy. And above all, a language section! It's always nice to say at least greeting and "thanks" in the native language. This was the last time I've bought Fodor. Not worth the money - and on top just annoying.

The only problem with this well organized guide is that the restaurants are not as up-to-date as I would like, and they are categorized by area, which can be confusing for a traveler who is unfamiliar with Amsterdam.
