just as good as canon batteries, but a lot less money........... 4 years later maybe not quite as good, but still good.
I got 2 of these for my Canon 7D and they are great. They fit easily into the charger and recharge well, they also register on the camera telling me how much charge/recharge value they have left. I've used them since July of this year and I can't tell them apart from my original canon battery. I had used sterling tek batteries before for a previous camera and had 3 that didn't work (although they did ship working ones to me), don't know if wasabi just has better quality control or if i was lucky. If i needed another battery for my 7D, i would order from here again. Update: it is now the beginning of 2017 I bought a total of 4 wasabi batteries for my 7D in whatever year this review was originally written 2013 (I think). This is what i can tell you about the batteries now: They've only been charged using a canon recharger, they still register well in my camera, they still charge with the exception of 1 which i had packed in one of my camera bags and then forgotten for probably 6 mos or more on a full charge, and is pretty much dead now (well it will charge and then stop at about 17% which is as good as dead. Although I am probably to blame for this). The other 3 still charge but 1 of them reads 80% when fully charged and the other two reads 100% with recharge performance at 3 green bars each. I also got a used canon battery when i bought my 7d secondhand, at the time that battery read 1 green bar in recharge performance (which was late in 2012), now that canon battery reads: 100% with 1 red bar in recharge performance. I try to rotate my batteries when i use them, but honestly I'm not sure that they all get into the rotation all of the time. I am NOT a studio photographer, I just like to take photographs.............a lot of them. I've easily taken several tens of thousands of pictures in the time i've had these batteries, some single shots, lots multiple shots, some with live view and some without. Yes, in my experience canon batteries are better, ie: last longer; but for the money you spend, i certainly think that the wasabi batteries are worth it.

Exceptional battery for the price!
At first I was a little skeptical about purchasing this battery since there was a not so good review on it, but decided to take the chance since a majority of users claim for it to be worth the money. I use this battery with my Canon 60D and was able to put it to the test at a friends wedding. I was surprised to find that I was able to get 1500+ shots out of it! The pictures were shot primarily using the view finder with AF on and minimal use of the flash. I was even able to squeeze in a few short video clips and numerous reviews of the pics that were taken. By the end of the day, I still had a bar or two of battery life remaining. I did not even have to use the oem battery that came with the camera as a back up. If you're looking for a great deal, I would highly recommend this battery. My review is based on approx. a month of usage. ------ Update: 07/19/2012 After a year plus a few months, this batter still holds a charge. When compared to Canon's battery, it definitely has lost it ability to hold a good charge. I'm only able to get +-500 shots out of it now. With Canon's battery, I'm still able to get over 1000 shots. So for the price, I think it's still a good buy.

A Good OEM Alternative, BUT.....you get what you pay for.
I like these batteries. I bought six of them. The price, especially, was a relief when I incidentally had to purchase an overpriced, $90 Canon-branded battery from a local camera shop when I lost my one-and-only factory 60D battery on a paid shoot one day. But they've gained a reputation amongst my crew. On a long shoot, we're always moving LP-E6 batteries on-and-off the chargers and distributing them to three different shooters. When I get "hit with a Wasabi" I sigh in a small amount of exasperation, because they're not as hardy or as accurate (at life prediction) as my pricier Canons. As such, we usually pre-charge a bunch of Wasabis and toss them in a Ziploc labeled 'charged' before a shoot, and let the Canon batteries, which hold up much better, do the rounds on the charger. Why? Because the cycle time on these Wasabis isn't great, they don't last terribly long, and they don't give as much assurance of battery life when they are actually charged. STILL, they're cheap, they can be rotated on a bigger shoot, and they do the job. I'm spoiled because I was forced to buy the Canon battery, and now have two that I can cycle back-and-forth on a day's shoot. For the rest of my crew, the Wasabis will do just fine.

I'm sold on this brand. Great replacements for my Canon cameras.
I've been buying this brand for all the Canon cameras and I feel they're as good or better than the Canon batteries. I like that I can use the Canon chargers too, so I can charge several batteries at the same time. They hold a charge for a long time too, so I'm always ready to go.
