Don't bother with this one if purchasing outside of the US. After sales structure is useless. The USB cable arrives so tightly wrapped that it's sure to have incurred some damage. Low and behold once you connect the device it randomly disconnects because the USB cable is faulty. The seller does not deal with overseas customers. The only option you are given is to return the product to Amazon as faulty, get a refund and repurchase the same item. This would be very inconvenient if you already start transferring data across and then the flimsy temperamental cable fails.

I've only purchased G-Tech drives for years and a couple Fantom drives (7200 rpm) because they had the same insides (Hitachi) at G-Tech drives had, but 75% the cost. But, I edit from 12K and 8K .braw footage and needed an SSD that could hold massive projects. I still don't know what brand this is so I was leery but for the price, I tried one. It was actually great... super reliable after about 1.5 years right now with about 6 TBs of footage on it, varying resolutions, no lag at all. Okay, then I shot a film in 12K and 8K and figured I'd have to turn my footage into proxies (smaller versions of the files) to edit from... nope, not with this. I got a second drive for that project and it's been great, literally taking a break from editing on that right now. I'm a drive snob but I'm amazing by these so far. I'm still skeptical that it'll hold-up but it's been rock solid even though I've taken it into an office, back home, back and forth five days a week so it's not just sitting at home and still hasn't bricked. There's nothing else even close to this value for how much storage you get at these speeds.

Had it for 5 years now. No issues. Paid 129 back then. Darn inflation. Edit - July 2025- Had a lightning strike right next to my home that fried a lot of things, but this thing is still working perfectly. I have no reason to give a good review other than it's a rare exception compared to a lot of items. My bluetti power station bricked in my garage at the opposite end of the house. Both me and this HD were prob. 20 yards from the strike, that hit just outside my home. The strike blasted the phone (twisted pairs) box lid right off. The power station was around 50 yards away. I do realize, I dodged a bullet not losing this and more. Thinking of getting another one. It was plugged into a computer at the time. They say you should have important files that you keep on a drive unteathered to the grid. Can't speak to why it wants to back up whatever computer I happen to be on at the time. It's nice that it does that, but I usually erase it and we start the dance all over again. I only store on it what I want, not what it wants... :P

Too soon to say if the drive has a good life span but it formatted very quickly and has been backing up my data continuously since it arrived.
