Melissa & Doug Sunny Patch Flash Firefly Bug Flashlight for Kids

My2 1/2-year-old granddaughter absolutely loves it

My daughter has recently been asking to bring books into her crib to "read" after she gets oeut down for the night. This flashlight is perfect because it's not burn-your-retinas-out bright like every other flashlight I've found. People on here are complaining because it's too dim, but it's perfect for a reading light or really for any kind of toddler activity because the first thing they do is shine it in their own eyes, and the second thing they do is shine it in yours. If you're looking for something you can see from space, get any other LED flashlight on here. If you're looking for a gentle, not super bright toddler flashlight, this one is a big win.

This is seriously far better than I could have hoped for. My toddler expressed that he felt scared in the dark, so I started looking for an appropriate flashlight for him to have in bed with him at night. This one is comically dim to an adult but absolutely perfect for a toddler, gives confidence and a light but It is also totally fine when they fall asleep with it shining in their face. Speaking of falling asleep with it, no, it does not have an automatic shutoff, but we are a month in of using it every night and he leaves it on every night all night and we are still in the first set of batteries! Amazing! I have a 2.5-3yr old using it and the on/off switch is not a problem at all for him to find and use in his own. It’s also super cute on top of everything else! Love this so much! Can’t recommend it enough!

Adorable flashlight, but it’s always on! Wish the button to turn this on/off was a little better, because my son likes to carry this in his tool bag, but it turns on when the button is just slightly touched (which is all the time in a bag full of tools). That being said, the battery life on this thing is great, because it has yet to die even though it’s turned on more than it’s turned off.

The Melissa & Doug Sunny Patch Flash Firefly Bug LED Flashlight is a hit with my toddler! It's the perfect size for little hands and not too bright, making it safe and fun for young children. My toddler loves carrying it around and exploring with it. It's a great way to encourage imaginative play and independence. Highly recommended for any young adventurer!

The on/off switch doesn't work properly. When you turn it on it's hard to turn off. The plastic switch seems stuck in the middle. I don't recommend and I'm asking for a refund and buying from someone else. Disappointing

Im a big fan of melissa & doug products so this one made me kind of sad, but the little switch to turn it on and off really doesn't work well. It doesn't actually click into place for either so its really easy to bump and turn on or off. Hopefully I just got a defective one cause its really so cute. But I cant be too upset for the price

My son absolutely loves the flashlight this is his third favorite toy but unfortunately this probably will not happen to most people my son threw it down the hallway for the sixth time and the spot where you're supposed to put a little neck lanyard through snapped right off and we had to file it down so that wasn't sharp But survived and almost every night making shadow puppets or looking inside of bags or closet or at pictures of animals in books and so on so I highly recommend maybe for a child not quite as destructive as mine I like to say he's free spirited as opposed to destructive but I digress go ahead buy it it's cute spend your money it's worth it

This was the best option I could find with enough trust to give to my toddler. Works great, seems durable, and get to the battery without a screwdriver. No complaints here

Ordered it a few months back and stashed it away for my son’s birthday. When we got it out to use it, it just…doesn’t work. You have to jam the switch forward and it briefly flickers on, then switches off again. We’re outside the return window but hopefully this review saves someone else wasting their money on this.

Softer torch than the regular torches so safe for kids but the finishing could be better. Not at the quality of regular Melissa and Doug products

As a toy, this is very cute, a good size, no sharp corners, etc. But as a flashlight it is quite feeble, flickers on and off as the batteries wobble around inside, and casts a very dim beam. Now I know we're not looking for anything super bright for kids, but this could have been done better and been a functional toy for looking under the bed, banishing monsters from the closet, etc, rather than dim and flickering.
