This is NOT an IDE hard drive, at least not the IDE hard drive that I was hoping to purchase... This is a SATA drive... In the description is says IDE, is there a larger meaning of the word IDE... If someone could help me get a clue, it would greatly be appreciated.... Thanks

It ok
Not the best HD. I bought this drive to recover the data on the same drive that failed me. It has pretty slow transfer rates but it's an old drive.

Quiet, aging workhorse
At the time of this review, this drive has 8 years of service, 4 of which were very heavy use. The drive is as quiet as the day it was made, and has experienced no issues at all during its lifetime. It has seen service in no less than 4 different PCs and a NAS. The drive was not particularly fast, but has been a real dependable, and now aging workhorse. It seems like most of these either suffer 'infant mortality' or last a long time.
