This conditioner works well and lasts a long time, so I think it is a good value for the money. However, what I like best is that the only packaging is a recyclable (or compostable) paper/cardboard container--no plastics to manufacture or put into a landfill. It is also handy for travel, especially once you've used the bar a lot. Once I wore mine down to a small size, that went into my travel toiletries case, and I bought a new one for the shower. I did the same for my shampoo bar, and a shaving bar, so now I have very small and lightweight bars for shampoo, conditioner, and shaving, which is great if you like to travel light. Anyway, I hope more people switch to bar forms of these things. They are very economical and work well--give it a try!

I bought this for an upcoming international trip with a carry-on only, so a large bottle of conditioner was out of the question, and I'm so glad I did. I use a prescription shampoo for my dermatitis which absolutely dries my hair to a crisp, and this product restores its shine and softness. Also, it is easy to control the amount you use and where you put it (i.e., not on my scalp). Mine came with wrapped in what looks like a coffee filter which absorbs any dampness as well as keeping the product plastic-free. I'll definitely buy this again, although based on the amount you have to use, I don't think that will be soon. Well done HiBAR!

Update: After using this conditioner bar for months, I can say that it lasts for a very long time. It's a very good value. With use I have been able to work it down to a flatter shape, but it still slips out of my hand quite often. It makes my hair soft and tangle free which is what it's meant to do. I still hate the shape. Original review: This is the second brand of solid conditioner bar I have tried. These are great for air travel or any travel, plus they are environmentally friendly. I intend to continue my search for the perfect bar. While the shape of this is pretty, it just doesn't have the contact with my hair that a brick shaped one does. It takes more time to feel like all of my hair has been treated. Also it slips out of my hand too easily. One star removed only due to the funky shape.

This product is soooo conditioning! It leaves my hair incredibly soft, and lathers well into the hair which can be a problem with conditioner bars. The smell is very mild and pleasant, not overwhelming at all. Definitely keep it in a dish or soap holder because it gets soft in water, but it'll last you a long time if you take care of it properly

It's really really hard to hold it's even harder to use it on your hair however I will say the end product is good I just wish it was easier to use
