Exactly as described. Arrived on time usual good packaging. Very good for the job it was designed for. Buy now you won't get lost.

I bought this mainly to help find my car in parking lots and for trips abroad to help find my way back to the hotel. I tried it out first at a mall near home, one time when I was able to get a GPS lock. When I turned it back on after leaving the store, it could not get a lock. So it was useless. On the rare occasion it did get a lock, the display was arbitrary and not very accurate. In Europe, it never acquired a GPS signal so it was useless there as well. I don't know if my particular unit is defective or if I just happened to be in areas with limited GPS availability, but our car GPS and my phone GPS both work flawlessly everywhere. So for me, this was a total waste of money. It is a great concept, and maybe if they spent a bit more to improve it's sensitivity, although it would be a bit more expensive, I'd rather pay more for something that works than pay less for a paperweight. I would recommend that anyone who purchases this device, retain the original packaging in case you need to return it.

Mixed results. This item is very easy to use. It does its basic job, which is to point you at the place you marked and get you within 15 yards of it. This is fine for locating your car in a huge parking lot. But you will have problems finding your way in a parking garage or indoor mall, where you cannot get GPS signals. Also, the compass function is unsatisfactory. It will keep seeking north, but never really find it. If you take a bunch of readings trying to find north, you can eventually average all the numerous varying pointings and come up with rough "north." Some of these pointings will be 180o off, though, so it takes a while to average them and figure out where approximate north is. Yes, this device does it job, but I think one would be better off carrying a small notepad to jot down notes or a rough map of where the car is parked.

Actually bought this as a gift for brother and sister in law, they have a tendancy to get a little lost when hiking. They are not tech savy so thought I'd take it out and use it a little to make sure I understood it so I could answer their questions. It's easy to use and works great for finding your car in a large parking lot. The only problem I can see for them is it points the direction and gives the distance to the car or trailhead but it's straight line. So if they had hiked around to the otherside of a hill it would be telling them to go up over the hill instead of back around it. For the money it does what it's supposed to do and it's easy to use. Maybe if they get the hang of this one I will get them a GPS with maps for Christmas.
