I am vegan, but I have a large cabin at the top of the Sierras where I entertain many guests. And most of my guests love bacon with breakfast, or on BLT sandwiches. As a vegan, I abhor dealing with any kind of animal grease. But this tray is so awesome, it cooks the bacon perfectly, every time, and I can prepare bacon to my guests preference, using only short tongs and the tray. It crisps the bacon to whatever your preference is based on minutes cooked. And the excess grease pours easily into a can for tidy disposal. I have a Costa Rican family of 7 visiting right now, and this tray is getting a work out. My guests love the tray because even the kids can cook bacon for a quick sandwich. It can be used for over and over without having to clean between batches. And once done, it cleans really simply in hot soapy water, or the dishwasher. This is one of those well priced, well engineered products that works great, and simplifies your life. And those are far and few it seems. I am certain you will love it. And the little piggy design makes everybody giggle.

This bacon cooker worked great for the first two years of use. Just recently, it began to cause a spatter mess. Seems like, after 2 years, the lid is not as tight a fit as it used to be. I didn't use it to cook bacon very often. The bottom makes a great meat tray for frozen meat defrosting in the fridge. I used the bottom a lot for that. I did use the lid on the microwave for a "microwave lid" for small rectangular plates of food. Maybe I wore the lid out by doing that. PROS: It makes great bacon. CONS: It makes great bacon, so I am sad that it needs replacement in just 2 years. Would I buy it again? Yes. Would I recommend it? Yes.

This makes perfect bacon literally!! Purchased when I got into a BLT making binge and it’s worth buying. I can generally fit 3-4 full length bacon strips but I generally cut my bacon in half when I buy the package so I can fit 6-7 of that size. My 1000 watt micro at 3mins unfrozen or 4 mins frozen works perfectly if you like your bacon just crispy but not overcooked. The container is easy to hand wash but you’ll never get the inside of the top squeaky clean. I’m assuming it’s because of the type of plastic and between the heat and bacon spatter it contains the grease literally impregnates the plastic but it keeps your microwave spotless. I tend to place a piece of paper towel over each vent to keep the steam to a minimum but I’m max OCD. The lower tray has handles on the side that do not get hot so you can move the tray when hot and it will be super hot. All in all I love the product and the pig 🐷 is a nice touch lol

This thing cooks bacon perfectly! As someone else recommended in their review, I place a half sheet of paper towel under the slices of bacon and place another half sheet on top of the bacon before covering with the lid. I then microwave on high for about 1.5 minutes per slice. I use very thick slices of bacon too. The result is awesome! All slices come out real crisp with almost no grease on them. All of the fat and the grease are either in the tray or absorbed by the towels and cleanup is a breeze because there is no baked on fat on the tray. I am very pleased with this purchase and recommend it. I am also very happy with the company that sells this product, JoieShop (MSC International). When I received my tray, the lid handle was slightly damaged. I could live with it but decided to contact JoieShop anyways and asked if they had the little part for the handle. Within a few hours after I contacted them through their website I had an email from Patrick at their customer service. He did not ask any questions and just wanted my address. I was very surprised when I received a complete set in the mail! I was not expecting that at all so thank you! Great customer service! I have used one of these joie bacon cookers for years! The same one. Purchased it in 2013 from BBB. If you look at these pics you'll see how durable it really is. If you get your timing for number of bacon pieces you are cooking, you'll get perfect bacon every time. This is bacon cut into 3rds. 9 pcs. Thick cut. It took 4 min.s in my over oven microwave. This is a durable, perfect turnout, bacon cooker. If you aren't getting perfectly cooked bacon on yours, work on your timing. The only problem I ever had with joie was on me, learning timing per pcs. I have piled bacon two layers and pick out the ones that get done and put the rest back in a minute or two. If your bacon, single layer, is almost done at the end of the minutes you can let it set in the microwave without cooking more and the heat will complete cooking it. Thin bacon will cook much faster. Just learn what it takes with your microwave and you can have perfect bacon everytime 👌

Cute concept but …there is a major problem with the lid. The piggy knob holds water and grease. I hand washed it the first use and soapy water kept draining around the knob. It took a lot of repeated rinsing until clear water drained from the knob. Same thing happened in the dishwasher. The knob needs to be sealed so no liquids can get caught behind the knob and come in contact with food that is being cooked in the tray. Returning product

Cooks ok but oven does better

Lovely surprise to find my bacon cooked perfectly! Was skeptical about cooking bacon in the microwave, but three minutes was all it took to convert me to micro wave bacon. The dish is easy to clean although it is also dish washer proof. Great! :)

It works great. We microwave bacon for Caesar salad and it literally takes 3:45 and it’s ready. Cleanup is easy too. If your looking just buy this one. It can cook maybe a maximum of 4 pcs at a time.
