Sharp Digital Alarm Clock with Easy to Read Large Numbers and Swivel Base

I know it's a unique set of functions I desired. I was looking for a clock that--nerdy, yes--tells me exactly what time it is. I guess I'm lazy, too unmotivated to lift my phone or wear a watch to bed. But right or wrong, that's what I wanted: to know what time it is. None of this existential nihilism for me. "Does anybody really know what time it is?" The answer is YES!! I KNOW what time it is, because i look at my clock, and I can see it perfectly from across the room, and I know exactly how much time I have left to stay in bed, or finish dressing, or reading my book. I must say, I am impressed with this product. It does precisely what I want, at an appropriate level or brightness, but even more, if I desire, it has an alarm function. I may come to use this one day, if I ever want to wake up before I'm finished resting. I can't imagine that happening, but if it ever does, I'm ready, and when that alarm goes off, I'll KNOW what time it is without glasses, without a phone, without fear (because of the battery protection against power outages). I would definitely recommend this clock to anyone who needs to know the time.

My dad has dementia and was always “playing “ with the buttons on his old clock radio, thinking he was shutting off the TV. Then during the night the alarm clock would go off or the radio would turn on. This clock has all the buttons in the back, he doesn’t see them so he doesn’t “play” with them! It’s great. The clock was easy to set, the numbers are large and easy to read, even with the dimmer on! I’m very pleased with the quality and look of this clock

This electric clock is great. Nice BIG red letters (1.5" to 2" tall ) that has 2 levels of brightness .... they are very bright. We use for time near our large HDTV. They would be too bright for us to use on a bedside nightstand, even at the lowest dim setting, since we want almost total darkness. If you do not have a problem with light in the bedroom, then this clock might work, but it is quite bright. I'd think for any use when one wants to tell time up to 20-25 feet away this clock would work great. I plan to buy two more for the garage and patio.

I really like this clock. It is easy to read, easy to set, and looks fine. The battery backed memory feature doesn't work at all. With a brand new 9 volt battery the clock does not keep the correct time when power is off even for just a few hours. If the power is out for a few seconds it seems to work.

This clock is easy to set, the numbers are nice and big which I needed. You can adjust the brightness of the numbers from high to low. There isn't a lot of difference but I have it on the high setting for more brightness. All around it's a very nice clock. I can't say anything about the alarm part of it because I am not using it for that so I don't know how loud it would be.

I bought this because I was having trouble focusing on my old clock when I woke up during the night. No more--I can now definitely read the time when I wake up at 3:35 AM with confidence. I use it on the lower brightness setting which is plenty bright even with the lights on. It does not illuminate the room like a night light. It has alarm clock functions but they are simple and is not a good choice if what you really need is an alarm clock. It's a good design at a good price.( I looked for a red display because "They" say that red or warm colors are less disturbing to sleep. I only know that a red light in my rear view mirror is far, far, less disturbing than a blue light.)

I bought this for my 82 year old mom. She had gotten one at a big name store, and paid $30. That was the cheapest one they had, by the way. That one had bluetooth connectivity, along with some other features. The problem was, however, that she could not get the darned thing set, so someone had to call her in the morning to make sure she was awake! Kind of defeats the purpose of an alarm clock! This one was definitely what the doctor ordered. Easy to read. But most importantly, easy to set! And, easy to tell that it is set. She was able to do it without even reading the instructions. Perfect for a senior citizen!!

I don't like leaving negative reviews but there are some deal breakers. I bought 2 of these (exact same for each of my kids). When I plugged it in it had a faint, yet audible, high pitched electric whine coming from the alarm speaker that will drive you crazy. The pitch would change by adjusting the brightness and volume but was still horrible and my kids could not sleep. (I'm not talking about the actual alarm. This high pitch whine, almost like ringing in your ears, is there 100% of the time and was the exact same on both units). They toughed it out for a night and told me they had a hard time getting to sleep with them. When I went to unplug them and take them out, they were quite hot to the touch. Not a risk I am willing to take leaving these things in my kids bedroom. Really bummed because they look nice, are easy to operate and have a large display. But the high pitch whine and heat they produce I can't deal with. Must be a bad batch of resistors in the manufacturing or something. I threw the boxes away so I can't return and I'm fine with that because that's my bad. Nothing bad toward seller, just a faulty Sharp product....
