Very good containers. Just knocking off one star as they're 'slightly' smaller than I expected and the inner tray of one container is difficult to remove.

Love em, great food containers. never overfill them though, lid needs a bit of a buffer to open without spilling.

Rubbermaid has a good product reputation, and these Brilliance storage containers are no exception. First, even though Rubbermaid states that these containers are dishwasher safe, I never put my plastic items in the dishwasher. What does "dishwasher safe" mean or imply? I personally believe the water temperature in a dishwasher is far too high and will alter the product integrity (e.g., the excessively high water temperatures can, over time, cause the plastic to become brittle, and make it subject to cracking - or - cause the container to warp, or change the integrity of the rubber-like gasket thus changing the the ability these containers to seal as tightly as it should.) Thus, I feel my time is well spent hand-washing these containers. I have not experienced any cracking, warping, or problems sealing these containers. Given that this product actually performed better than expected, my son wanted me to find a similar, yet larger container to store leftover chili. He wanted round containers to hold approximately 8 to 9 cups of liquid. Bingo, Rubbermaid Brilliance has those also. Oh, BTW, I also do not put any pots, pans, or roasters in the dishwasher! My father, a chef, told me to wash them only in a dishwasher if I wanted to shorten the lifespan of my very expensive cookware. I look at handwashing my Rubbermaid Brilliance storage containers with the same thought in mind. A little Dawn liquid dish soap, and these containers function as if they were new. These are excellent food storage containers. And because they are made of clear plastic and come in a variety of sizes, they can be used in the pantry to store baking goods (such as flour and sugar) and dry foods (like rice, cereal, and beans). In fact, I can think of hundreds of uses for these containers, such as sewing and crafts. I also bet men could use them on their workbench (for nuts, bolts, screws, etc.).

I originally purchased a set of these from Costco- I liked them so much that I ditched all other containers brands that I had to replace with these. When I went to buy a second set they were no longer available... thank goodness I found them here on Amazon. These are superior to other brands because 1- they’re a hard/acrylic type plastic (bpa free) 2- they’re leak proof, I haven’t had anything leak (but I wouldn’t fill one with red wine and then toss around a room with white carpet 🥴) 3- they’re airtight! Food stay fresher, longer 4- they work very well in the freezer, I can buy a large/bulk pack of steaks and freeze them in one of these containers (each steak wrapped in parchment paper) and it’s pretty amazing how pink and fresh they are compared to a freezer bag or other storage containers, no ice or freezer burn 5- they wash well in the dishwasher, no distortion of shape and I haven’t found a tomato sauce yet that has stained one 6- they stack and store easily. The only top I have is that you be really careful the fist few times when opening and closing them because the latches on the side seal TIGHT and I’ve caught my finger in them twice now (you’ll see exactly what I mean when you get them) so be conscious about it and after a few times it will be second nature. When you place the lid on the container, press down to release air from container and with lid pressed down, snap the latches closed. I’ve liked these so much that I replaced all of my older stuff (including expensive glass containers) with these.
