but the readings are useful anyhow.
Bought for my environmental scientist wife, who now keeps it in her work backpack (which is a strong endorsement). We use the humidity sensor most. She has not calibrated it, we don't know how accurate it is, but the readings are useful anyhow.

Fine, I just chose the wrong object as a gift.
Unfortunately, this turned out to be of no use to my friend I bought it as a birthday gift.No fault again, I just got the wrong gift for my friend who spends a lot of time on his boat.

****SCAM ALERT****I ordered the Reed LM-8000 but received the much cheaper Reed LM-81AM, a much cheaper product. Absolutely worthless. Being incompetent is fine, but do it on your own time, not mine.

Should come with case not as an option
I like the product for its size and multi-purpose of checking temperature, humidity, lumens and air speed. Nevertheless, it should come with a case to pritect it. Making it optional is a little cheezy.
