You can use them as quick 5 min. reading or take your time and dig much deeper with included scripture references. I never get tired of reading through this yearly. Timeless way to strengthen your walk with the Lord and lean into the Word. Great gift idea.

One of my favorite devotionals since I was a young adult. Have misplaced a couple and this is my third one! It will get you through some hard times with not just the Word or wisdom, but great poems on top of that. Seems like the best time to need a devotional is when you’re having a hard time, and this one is perfect for that.

This devotional is perfect for a morning prayer time. Each day’s writing is short but powerful. Highly recommend!

A friend told me about this devotional and that she has used it for years. I purchased it for my Kindle and can say that it's beautifully written. I find it to be an uplifting way to start the day. Each day has it's theme, referencing Bible verses, and most often poetry that fits the theme. The poetry is written by various authors. Each day's read takes only about five minutes at the most, but it does lead you to deeper thinking. I read each day's message before my feet hit the ground. This is my "quick start" for the day, but it's not the only thing I read. I need something more "meaty" to really get me going. All in all it's a really nice, first thing in the morning devotional; especially for someone on the fly. Jessy

I personally love the original version because the old English makes me slow down and think harder about what’s being communicated. But I use this modern day version as a gift for people who do not want that challenge. This devotional meet you where you are at in anxiety, fear, and life challenges to validate, encourage, and lift your eyes to your Creator, and Maker who loves you. If you are like me, many people have advised ‘oh you need to read this book’ when your life is in crisis and you can’t handle one more thing. I received it during a season of unemployment, and then my husband had a stroke and life just got worse from there. Gratefully, I listened to the person who sent it to me and asked me to give it a chance. More than 10 years later, through a few seasons of affliction and suffering and now, through the loss of my husband, this devotional continues to comfort my soul and raise my eyes.

Dieses Buch ist gerade, wenn man sich in einer Depression oder "Wüstenzeit" befindet hervorragend. Ich liebe es, jeden Tag darin zu lesen und ermutigt zu werden. Nur schade, daß es dieses Buch (noch?) nicht in Deutsch gibt. Englischkenntnisse müssen da sein, aber auch wenn man nicht "perfekt" Englisch spricht, ist es gut zu verstehen!

Wonderful having a print copy of the classic devotional. Much better than using online or app versions. Always a pleasure to read and the devotionals are bang-on. Blessing to read.
