It looked the same and seemed to function the same. I was pleased with the original and equally pleased with the replacement. I was curious about what had changed, so I asked. Apparently, it has new heating elements and a control probe that monitors and adjusts the heat level in real time to prevent overheating or discomfort. I had noticed that after some time the heat level had dropped off, which it turns out is the effect of the control probe. I was pleased with my original purchase and am beyond pleased with Aroma Season’s product support and their new product. I highly recommend it.
