Cat Muzzle with Breathable Mesh, Cat Mouth Guard Muzzle for Prevent Biting Chewing Grooming (S-Black)

My cat is more-or-less well-behaved, but panics easily at the slightest provocation. Every time I put her in a car she whines and hyperventilates the entire time, and Feliway does little to help. My vet mentioned that she calms down with a towel over her face, and it gave me the idea to purchase this muzzle. After letting her play with it & gradually getting her accustomed to wearing it by bribing her with treats over the course of a couple days, it works better than I expected. Medium was a bit big on her so she can pull it off with moderate effort, but she tolerates it well enough to mostly leave it alone. In the car she hyperventilates far less, and the vet said that with it on she was much more patient with the process & they'd like to get some for the office. I was even able to bathe her with it on without her raking or biting me in an attempt to escape, although she whined just as much. If you take the time to get them accustomed to it, this muzzle can work miracles.

My sweet kitty cats turn into vicious wild tigers when it’s claw clipping time. I tried wrapping them in towels, enlisting reluctant friends to help wrangle them, and stuffing them into sweatshirt sleeves (ha) nothing worked. Every time it became a stressful unpleasant time for all involved. I wound up with mad cats hiding for hours and multiple scratches for me……and the cats still had their claws! I gave up and spent a fortune taking them to the vet just for claw trims. I tried the cat muzzle out of exasperation. WOW! what a change. The cats eyes remained gently covered, they could easily breathe , and they actually remained calm and held still while I clipped claws. It’s a miracle for my cats. Absolutely magic. No stressed cats, no scratches for me, deadly pointy claws clipped right off! I don’t know if it will have the same calming effect for your cat, but it works on all of mine.

I’ve used this for my feral cat. It’s like a horse mask. If they can’t see, they stress less. Unfortunate I have to take one star off because this doesn’t stay on. You need to constantly have someone holding it while you groom your cat.

While it may look bizarre, it gets the job done! I originally bought two sizes of muzzles for trimming nails of a couple of my cats. Two of my cats detest their nails being trimmed and usually will bite (hard) during the process. I would not say it has a calming effect on my one, but it definitely prevents her from biting me. It’s a thumbs up from me.

My cat still managed to get this off somehow so just be careful. Was trying to cut her nails while I used it.

Cutting my cat’s nails is sometimes a huge pain in the butt when he’s in a mood, so instead of keep risking getting bit, I decided to try out this soft muzzle. It doesn’t work very well, it’s too soft and if your cat gets aggressive (like mine does randomly), he’ll have it off in 0.2 seconds. This defeats the purpose. It’s not safe. I tried it on regularly, and then also tightly—neither way works. He’s strong and has zero patience, and gets out of it in seconds. I’ll have to keep using the towel burrito trick to not get my blood drawn whenever he’s in a mood and I need to cut his nails. (-.-)

Our kitty is half feral and can occasionally be a bit on the wild side & unpredictable. She will not allow us to do anything to her without hissing, biting and snapping. Sometimes it’s necessary for us to clean her bum as she’s a long-haired kitty and occasionally pooh gets stuck to her fur in that area and we have to remove it by hand. Yuck! Where I wouldn’t say that she likes wearing the mask, she does tolerate it as long as I sooth-talk to her while she’s wearing it. The mask makes it possible for us to remove the pooh and clean her up. It allows her to breathe just fine, covers her eyes completely and appears to be as comfortable as something like this can be. We weren’t able to tell what size she actually needed so we bought two sizes and the larger of the two fit well.

This was perfect!!! I have a Hellion female that bits, and scratches, but with this she can't see which REALLY HELPS. I WAS SHOCKED how well she behaved getting a bath. We got her silicon mittens too and she was actually not pleased but became very compliant. Well worth it!!

The one I got was too big for my adult cat.. and it doesn’t stay one he can remove it with his paws so it’s not really working for me.

Has definitely saved us from many scratches and possible bites when brushing my daughter’s cat…
