Classic Children's Toy with a updated character
A very cute update on a classic toy. I didn't even know they made Jack-in-the -boxes anymore. I haven't seen one in years. It works just like you'd expect, but with the cute little bunny from Guess How Much I Love You popping out of the box.

Exactly What We Wanted!
First things first, I will mention that this box is very thin, and as a precious reviewer mentioned, Little Nutbrown Hare doesn’t return to the box easily. It may be a toy, but it should be handled with care. In my house we have a rule that the kids (4,3, and 9months) each get one Christmas gift from Santa, and that particular gift has to be something that an elf could make in the toy shop. This Jack-in-the-box was what Santa gave our baby for her first Christmas, and it ended up being a favorite in our house for all of the kids. The Little rabbit is nice and soft and the images on the box are beautiful, just like the sweet book it’s based off of. It’s a BIT difficult to make sure the latch that holds the box closed is in the right position to keep the spring from popping it open too early, but not rocket science. The kids need help with it, and we just have to keep it out of their reach when they’re not supervised so that it can remain a treasured item. The jingle is the standard “Pop Goes the Weasel” that is so often associated with the Jack-in-the-box, and its soft but I didn’t notice any issue with tune quality. Anyway this was everything we wanted it to be and I would recommend it if you’re looking for a gift for a new parent or grandparent, a family Easter keepsake, a book for fans of classic children’s literature, or as a special gift for kids 💚

Very cute for a toddler
Why did you pick this product vs others?: This is very cute, but my one-year-old child is still probably a trifle young for it. He can't turn the crank by himself, and the bunny startles him when it pops out. A few more months and it will be perfect. Looks very cute in his nursery in the meantime!

I Like it, BUT...
This Jack (or Nutbrown)-in-the-Box is adorable and was perfect for my 4 year old daughter who wanted a Jack-in-the-Box for Christmas and her favorite book is "Guess How Much I Love You." I thought the music was fine and met my expectations for what a Jack-in-the-Box would sound like--I was not expecting a high-quality music box sound. The latch worked fine, however, you do have to play the song through so that the bunny goes back in the box easier (not a problem for me--maybe a little for my 4 yr. old) and the latch works fine then too. My biggest complaint was that it was poorly packaged in an Amazon Box with two other items (light weight) I purchased with a bunch of air filled plastic bags. The JITB was not boxed individually except to have a narrow box bottom around the lower half of the JITB maybe about an inch or so high--certainly not enough to protect it during shipping. I did not notice that it was somewhat dented in on the side where you turn the crank when I put it in another sturdier smaller box to wrap for Christmas until after my daughter was playing with it right after opening it. I did not return it as I think another would probably come dented also due to poor packaging and the dent was not overly noticeable, the crank still worked, and considering my 4 year old will be playing with it, I didn't see the point. She didn't even notice or care when I did. The tin used on this JITB is on the thinner side and does dent or ding easily. For the money, one would expect higher quality. But that is from a grown-ups point of view. My daughter LOVES it and is very happy with it and I guess that is what ended up mattering most. I gave it a 4 star because it made my daughter really happy, it is adorable, and I otherwise liked it other then the poor packaging and thin metal.

So cute
This makes such an adorable gift for a baby. It is well made (metal box) and the bunny is so soft and cute. If you find the lid doesn’t want to close, turn the crank on the side to adjust the little lever that makes the lid “pop.” It was a big hit at my one year old granddaughter’s birthday!
