Is a 6" Tie actually 12" if straightened out.

The 6" is 6" from end to end. There are longer options under another Nite Ize listing, e.g., 12", 24", etc. I found them by just searching Nite Ize. One quick note :the circumference increases as the length increases.

How many ties come in a pack?

Two ties per package in both 6 & 12. I really like them. Great to carry when travelling as well as home. I purchased several packages.

They have other colors but they are double in price. For some reason they don't give a verity pack in just the 24th inch length. I use them in my hair to make a bun.
