This water hardness test kit works perfectly. The instructions are clear, and results show up in seconds. It helped me quickly figure out the hardness level of my tap water so I could adjust my water softener. Easy to use, reliable, and great value for the price!

Test strips change color quickly as advertised. Color result is not as definitive as I would have liked and subject to a fair amount of interpretation. Very easy to use. Accuracy is mediocre but OK for getting a rough estimate of water hardness. Price is right for a quick test.

My first impression is that these strips work very well. I tested several water samples multiple times and it sure looks like I have hard water (see picture). I needed to know, since I have medications sensitive to calcium and minerals. More testing will be performed, but so far so good!

Easy and accurate water testing

This water hardness test kit has everything you need to test your water! I highly recommend this kit. There is an ample amount of testing strips (2 packages) that are included and a graph printed on the side of the container that is used to compare your tested strip with a hardness scale (color coded). The instructions are easy to follow. We have very hard water and needed to know where to set our water softener to eliminate the hardness. This test kit worked perfectly and was accurate. The size of the box is easily stored away for future use and there is a lifetime supply of test strips for our use, very good value for the price. We tested for hardness but not chlorine as that was not our issue. The kit does test for that as well.

Discrimination of level of hardness is difficult because of the imprecision of the colorimetric methodology. Only gives a very rough idea of hardness.

Truth be told - I was cynical However, I'm pleasantly surprised. The strips work very well, and I can be 100% sure about this because I have my water softener connected to the hot water only. This is how I wanted it to be setup. I do not want my drinking water softened any more than it is, I actually have a separate filter for that anyway So, I did two tests, and as you can see from the photo. Green is the hot water tap result, and light brown is the cold water tap result. In a nutshell my hot water is soft, and my drinking water is mildly soft. Perfect! All-in-all a conclusive result and there are plenty of strips to last a very long time Would I recommend this product? 100% YES!

Easy and quick! Tried this out today and it worked great. Just dipped the strip in the water, waited a few seconds, and compared the color. Super simple! Mine showed around 3 gpg (about 50 ppm), so the water’s pretty soft. Nice little test kit to have at home — quick, cheap, and easy to read.

I've been waiting for something as simple and easy as this ever since I've had a water softener, so 15+ years. It's really easy to use, doesn't need batteries and this batch will likely last longer than I will. Great value too.
