I recently purchased this IP66 Outdoor External Junction Box for a backyard lighting project, and I’m genuinely impressed with the quality and performance. Build Quality: The enclosure is made of tough, durable plastic that feels solid and reliable. The seal around the lid is thick and secure, ensuring a tight, weatherproof fit. The screws are rust-resistant and easy to tighten, and the hinged lid is a great feature for convenient access. Weather Resistance: We’ve had several heavy rains and even a bit of snow since installing this, and the inside has remained completely dry. The IP66 rating really holds up – perfect for protecting connections in harsh outdoor environments. Ease of Installation: Pre-drilled mounting holes and plenty of space inside made it easy to install and wire. I had room for multiple cables and even a small terminal block without it feeling cramped. The knockouts on the sides were easy to remove cleanly with a hole saw. Versatility: I used it for outdoor lighting, but it would be equally useful for CCTV systems, garden projects, or any other low-voltage outdoor wiring. It has a professional look and feels very secure once mounted. Final Verdict: If you're looking for a solid, waterproof, and easy-to-use external junction box, this one is a winner. Why can't all junction boxes be this good, a liitle more expensive but worth it.

Bought this for an external cabling project, and I am very pleased with the junction box. It certainly meets its IP66 waterproof rating, not showing any signs of water ingress to date. It has a good number of screw hole options molded into the casing and it's a robust plastic. I am very pleased with my purchase.

Just posting this to help others. This is a perfectly good junction box. However, be warned despite being made and sold by Armakit it is not compatible with their armoured cable glands as there is not enough space for the locking nut due to the profile of the rear of the box.

Used these junction boxes for my CCTV. They are very good, but check the size of whats going inside before buying them.

On initial purchase and use these items seem excellent, and easier to use that some alternatives. But, the real test will be weather they remain water tight over a long, wet, cold, British winter, and I won't know that for a further six months.
