Genius System!!!
This Kaboom toilet bowl cleaning system is so genius!! Our home is 107 years old, as of this writing, and we've been living here since 1990, and the last time the toilet was replaced, I assume, was around 1960 (since that's the date stamped in the toilet tank lol). So, the time to replace this ancient toilet certainly is upon us! 😅 Now for my "toilet woes" back-story, Slight Edit 3.12.26: I had been dealing with health issues since 2021, so among other household maintenance, the toilet was neglected, although I would give it the occasional swish. (God forbid that anybody pitch in once or twice! 🤦 Ahem!) Anyway, just before Christmas (last month) I used up (several) pumice stones to bring this old toilet back from its condition of that one might expect to see in a frat house. 🥴 (Not to bag on our frat boy friends. I'm sure there are plenty of you who keep your toilet clean, hence my using the word "might", but that best describes the former condition of our toilet. 🤷) 3.12.26 Edit Continued: Originally I was going to post a photo of the bowl in its current "as clean as possible" condition, of which my original review writing alluded to, but I came to my senses then, and never did because truly my goal is not for anyone to lose their lunch, because there are still a couple of small spots in the bowl, above the water line, that have been stubborn against the pumice stone, and truly nobody out there deserves to see even that much. ♥️ Confessions for the greater good, right?!🥴 I'll continue tackling those areas with the pumice stone, but trust me, I know what a clean toilet bowl looks like, and the bowl as a whole, above and below the waterline, truly is, and has remained, 97% cleaner, after the pumice stone cleaning and with this Kaboom system in place! Can't wait for that new toilet! I mean after all, even though I lived through that disgusting-ness to tell the tale, I really do prefer cleanliness!! 🤣🤣🤣 So, at this editing juncture, 2.75 months after installation, the entire bowl has remained in the 97% clean range! That's how powerful this system is! Back to the original writing: In the past I've used the drop in, bleach tablets that sit in the bottom of the water tank. The flaw in those things is that the treated water spends more time in the holding tank than it does in the bowl. 🤷 The genius of this Kaboom system is that the chemicals are deposited directly in, and remain in, the refilled bowl water between flushes, allowing that treated water to hang out in the bowl between flushes and do it's job (☝️ including overnight!), vs. the drop ins where the treated tank water briefly skims the bowl before zooming down the drain. 🫤 The Kaboom unit is accompanied by two tubes, and two packs of two tablets, along with instructions. Also there are stickers with the month names to use for a reminder to replenish the tablets every 3 months, as they claim. It's super easy and quick to install. Setup will vary depending on the arrangement of the inner workings of one's toilet. In our case, we have a regulator clip on the original tube. (the black one seen leading to the Kaboom unit) I kept that tube so as not to mess with the water flow rate. I also kept the original bowl filling outlet tube because it's a 90 degree elbow that literally directs the water down in to the integrated pipe leading to the bowl. I also kept the clip to hold it to that unusually thick pipe. The clip that comes with the Kaboom system is just too small. See my photos and video. It takes two of the tablets, or one pack, as it were, and the tablets are easy to add right in to the unit. No fussing with arranging them at all! The water flow does the work to set them "straight". The tablets leave the water crystal clear, so there's no blue dye to contend with! The scent is not perfumy at all. It leaves a "barely there" scent like that of a clean tub of a clothes washing machine, (if that makes sense) if you purposely hunt for a scent. Lol My box doesn't show the OxiClean logo, so there's no way of telling whether OxiClean is actually a part of the chemical composition of the tablets, as is claimed. My guess is that it's not, but regardless, the tablets are definitely effective! As of this writing, the system/tablets have been in use for almost a month now. It looks like their gradual wear is reasonably accurate in lasting for three months. (See my video/photo) We are empty nesters, so for that reason, I'm curious as to whether the tablets might last us a bit longer, but I'd imagine that three months would not be out of the question for our former household of four, and perhaps with a large family, I'm speculating that, the tablets might need to be replenished more often than every three months, but I'm no expert by any stretch. Only time will tell for us though. One thing that we did not forsee is the plastic hook on the unit is so thick that it doesn't allow the tank lid to properly sit closed, so it can wobble when bumped or touched. (See my video.) Also there's a bit of an echo that rings out from the slightly lifted lid during the flush and fill cycle. For me personally, that's a minor flaw in the grand scheme of things, but I would never minimize others' intolerance of the noise as a result of this. I do get it (a family member of mine suffers from the condition) and that's why I mentioned it. ♥️ Also to keep this review honest and fair.🙂 This Kaboom system has been nothing short of a game changer for me to keep the toilet bowl from regressing back to it's former self! 😅 I feel it definitely lends a very welcome helping hand in maintaining the toilet bowl between brush cleanings! I think it's managing to keep our ancient toilet bowl as clean as it may ever be, and it appears that the unit is durable enough to last for a good many years! I highly, highly recommend, and I look forward to using this system in our new toilet, to keep it in it's "showroom shine" condition, so as to never see a "frat house" looking toilet again!!! 🙂 Once is really one time too many! 😏😅 Update 3.27.26: After the first 3 months of use, the tablets are close to, but not completely, dissolved. (See photo) Again we are empty nesters, so make of that what you will. 🙂

Effortless Clean With Every Flush
I bought this because I wanted a low effort way to keep the toilet clean without daily scrubbing. With a busy schedule and a bathroom that sees a lot of use, a hands off solution sounded like what I needed. The two refills add up to several months of maintenance, which sounded like a real time saver. In use, the system sits inside the toilet tank and the tablets dissolve with every flush. Setup was straightforward, and I appreciated that there is no messy wand to deal with. Over the weeks, the bowl looks cleaner and I notice less buildup around the water line. What stood out is how consistently it works. The effect is steady rather than dramatic, and I value not having to think about cleaning between major scrubs. The promised up to six months of continuous cleaning feels accurate in my experience, which is surprising in a good way. A small note is that there is a minor learning curve to placing the refill tablets correctly in the tank, and you have to remember to replace them when the pouch runs out. Other than that, it fits smoothly into my routine and makes bathroom maintenance feel effortless. Overall, I would rate it five stars.

Don’t like the smell
Three main points I have one of these systems on Al of my toilets at home however, (1) I don’t like the smell it smells like bleach and chemicals (fyi I just replaced the disk with a bleach disk because of the smell) (2) it is very easy to install the plastic is not hard but it’s a medium grade plastic (3) it does clean the toilet we live in a home new construction area and see a lot of dirt and debris in our toilets but this system has done. Wonderful job of keeping the bowl clean (minus the occasional after potty stains) All in all it’s work the money, ( minus the smell)

Switching from tablets in the tank was the best decision!
I used to use those drop-in tank tablets, but over time they damaged the rubber flapper and other parts and I kept having to replace them. With this system, the hoses deliver the cleaner directly into the tube that fills the bowl — so nothing is sitting in your tank messing with the parts. Setup was easy, and so far it's working great. In fact, I liked it so much I'm already buying it for my other two toilets! One tip: unless you're really set on having OxiClean in it, you can save some money buying generic refills that fit the same system. Works just as well for a lot less. If you've been using tank tablets and dealing with damaged flappers, do yourself a favor and switch to this. You won't regret it!

For me, this product has worked perfectly! But, I read and followed the instructions. You cannot just throw the tablets into the tank. Also, as some have indicated, the bromine smell was very strong. It was the same in our small bathroom. So instead of loading the dispenser with 2 tablets, I only use 1. Problem solved. Finally, this product will only maintain the cleanliness of your toilet. Start with a very clean toilet, and it stay that way. Start with a dirty toilet, and it will stay that way as well!

la verdad me sorprendio lo sencillo que fue instalarlo, yo lo usare con pastillas de cloro y hasta el dia de hoy, ha funcionado muy bien.

Continuous cleaning systems are hard to come by for some reason, especially those that aren’t vendor locked for the refills, this is the best way I’ve found so far. Holding well for the past couple of months.

It works not as well as advertised but over time and with scrubbing it does remove stubborn stains, I'll see once the stains are gone if it keeps them gone
