Fallers Axe (5 lbs.) with 28" Hickory Handle WP 1028

A very good, American made axe! Short handle, 5 lb head, great size for splitting firewood. American hickory handle, good straight grain handle, not a knot anywhere in the handle. What's not to like? Well maybe a sore back every once a while from splitting a 1/2 cord or more of wood for the fireplace occasionally!

Absolutely love this axe for pounding wedges it's done an Absolutely awesome job

Size is perfect for a solid swing and by God does the 5lb head have the weight to drive any wedge. I'm so glad I got this axe, I've bumped into numerous instances where the felling axe I was issued was just not cutting it and didn't have enough umph to drive a wedge. If this thing can't drive it, I'm confident I made the wrong cut to begin with!

I bought this for the heavy head, to mount on a longer handle. It is indeed heavy. Only doubt is about the quality of the steel and the tempering of the blade section. Will try to update on that with experience. Reasonably well finished, but no museum piece.

I love the heavy 5lb Axe head and the handle is a great length as well. Seems like a great combo. Came sharp and cuts with ease. Packs a punch! I mostly use for bushcraft/camping and it's been great.

Bought for husband, handles non stained, perfect fit in weaver logging belt. Feels great when swinging, weight is perfect, sharpish. Husband says it needs personal touches but other than that a perfect axe for logging.

this axe is heavy as to be expected but if you can hang on it does the job
