Purina ONE Plus Healthy Weight High-Protein Dog Food Dry Formula - 31.1 lb. Bag

Our vet has said our dogs are a bit "fluffy" and would benefit from losing a few pounds. She had recommended an alternative dog food but we thought it was too expensive. We have always trusted the Purina brand and decided to give this a go. Now, our fluffy dogs aren't so fluffy & that makes us & our vet happy. Are dogs are happy too and still full of energy. Our dogs are 7, 6 & 5 years old and all lab mixes - for reference. One is a very picky eater and one eats everything.

The perfect dog food for our babies! We have been working around different foods, trying to find a good healthy weight food that doesn't break our bank. We landed on this one for the price point for our 2 pups - a 5 year old GSD mix and a 14+ year old Chi/terrier mix (we just guess at him 😉). They both enjoy this food over previous choices, which is a huge win. Our dogs were getting a little chunky, so we are trying to whittle away some of their weight while still letting them enjoy their dinner. It comes with little softer pieces (which our older boy LOVES) so its sort of a treat for them. Quality control has been good so far, no bad bags. Again, just a really solid weight management food for the price. Our GSD has slimmed down following the recommended portions.

One of our dogs needed to lose a little weight, and adjusting his portions with this food helped him slim down quickly while keeping him satisfied. Overall, it’s a reliable, vet-friendly option for large or active dogs needing weight management.

Had a bit of a turn over at the vet, and one of the veterinarians talked me into fancy dog food. Not through him or anything, but he was talking to me about it when I thought I'd like to do better for my dog (I'm not up to cooking for another dog, not enough freezer room). Anyway, found a nice looking formula, followed the directions, and my dog GAINED 10 LBS! Not cool, man. He was hungry too =( So, had to put him on this. Not only did he lose weight, but he did like it and wasn't starving! I'd give it 10 stars if I could! Normally it's a difficult thing to put an animal on a diet, but so glad it was so easy this time. I try to keep my pets healthy, just sometimes weight is gained when I'm sick and can't exercise them. But never had a situation like that with a whole 10 pounds! Thank God it was so easy!

My pupper is getting up there on the age front and with age related decreased activity and coworkers succumbing to her adorable puppy dog eyes at lunch time, she was verging on a chunky monkey. We tried a vet recommended low fat/weight loss brand and it was pricey, but she's totally worth it. She ate it for a little while and then for about a week she wouldn't touch it unless I hand fed it to her, and then only reluctantly, and she is the opposite of a picky eater. So I looked around, read the reviews and decided to give this a try. It's fantastic! She loves it and is back to gobbling up the whole bowl before I even put it down. She's also lost all the weight she needed to and is completely back to her perfect healthy weight. She's never had any tummy troubles, and doesn't have those crazy monster poops that happen with foods that are all filler. So, I wanted to get all that out there first, because I did get a bad bag, ONCE, out of many orders (that's why I only put 4 stars, but I'd rather be able to put like 4.5). I didn't notice anything wrong when I opened the bag, and she was eating it happily. I keep her food in a sealed metal canister that I clean out every time I get a new bag. About a week after filling the canister with the new bag, I opened it for breakfast and there was a lovely little larva having the time of it's life and munching on my baby's kibbles. Needless to say, I screamed, scared the crap out of my pup, and probably the larva, and slammed the lid back on. We had homemade noms and I put in an order for a new bag. As I said, this food is great, and I don't hold the bug against the company cause honestly, bugs love dog food, thus why I got the sealed canister. Stuff happens, NBD. And I was too lazy to try to get a refund or anything so that's all on me, and I'd never had a problem before, or since. Also it was a moth larva, and those suckers get into everything, so if I blame anyone, I blame the moth parents for not raising their larva right, letting it steal a poor pupper's noms. Just rude.

My dog loves this and it keeps his weight down

My baby girl, a 140# Corso, loves this stuff. Although she’s a rescue who came to me as an older adult with only about half her original teeth, she crunches the kibble quickly and looks around for more. Once she got settled with me she relaxed and started putting on weight. This food helps. She’s slowly regaining her girlish figure.
