The Leviton 47615-PTT palm termination tool is a simple, inexpensive tool that makes terminating modular network jacks easier and more comfortable. It’s ideal for occasional installers, home network builders, and anyone who wants to reduce the fuss of hand-holding jacks during termination. If you terminate cables often, it’s a handy addition to your toolkit. Only downside is it is limited to Leviton compatible connectors.

Please note, I am not a professional cable installer. I am a DIY home owner migrating from a static patch panel to a modular patch panel. Each CAT5 cable needed to be rewired to the Leviton Quick Connect jack. Because my cable terminations are really high I’m required to do all the rewiring while on a ladder. I purchased this little Leviton jig to make life easier and it was well worth the $14 bucks I paid. It has mounting holes so you can mount to a rack which allows you to work with both hands freely. I was able to secure the 5G108 and 5G110 connectors with no problems. I may not need to use this jig again in a very long time if ever but again it made my rewiring job easy. Well worth the money,
