Love the fan and being able to use an app to turn it on or off. The remote is slim and easy to use, but a renter damaged it and of course didn’t tell me it happened. Looked online and was pleased to see there was a replacement. Make sure you choose the right one for your unit. Mine is the Bluetooth option. You have to throw the fuse for the fan to be re-set so that the new remote can be paired to it. Besides finding the correct fuse to shut off and back on, that was about it. You’ve got to use the remote within a set amount of time so the devices recognize each other.

This review is mostly about the design. Other than the remote, this is the only type of wall unit available from Modern Forms for controlling the fan. This design tries to control every aspect of the fan from a single device, the problem is for a wall unit it's overly complicated and difficult to use, 7 tiny buttons on a single wall unit. You have to view the unit to just to turn on the lights or else you may be selecting an unintended button. I have to explain to guess to use it, and really not easy for elderly to use. For a wall switch, I wish there was a simple Decora switch version that just controls the lights on or off (no dimming, the light dynamic range is not worth dimming), and maybe a occupancy detector with temperature and humidity sensor, if possible. Controlling the fan, fan speed, dimming can always be done via app, remote, or home automation. Right now for all the other fans in the house we have a Leviton Decora switch for lights with a side slider for the fan, it has been perfect just not usable with Modern Forms fans. It would be great if there was something similar.As for performance, there is a lag turning on lights on and off, which is annoying. The buttons do feel like they can break off, feel like they are floating on top without any support.Contacted support, but my issues were quickly dismissed, from their view the wall switch is perfect.

Sticker on remote says that your should check for the latest firmware for the fan before using the remote. This was all new to me, didn't even know the fan had firmware.Long story short I ended calling tech support. The gentleman that helped me was excellent. He walked me through getting the fan's firmware updated, downloading and setting up an account for the app on my phone and pairing the new remote with the fan.Best part? The app lets me control the fan using my phone as a remote. So given that this remote has a history of problems tech support also helped me set that up and stayed on the line until everything was working as expected.Overall very please with the new remote and the app.On the other hand Amazon delivery was a TOTAL FAIL. I have had excellent experience with Amazon delivery prior to this delivery. The products are always delivered to my front porch. This delivery was left at the end of the walkway next to my driveway. It was a light box and a windy day. When I came home the package had been tossed into the driveway. It was shear luck that it was still light out and I saw the box because if it had been dark I may well have missed the box and ran it over.

Needed a replacement remote for my ceiling fan.Easy to sync the remote and fan

The remote I received was the wall mount RFI needed a wall mount. The problem was my fan is about 3 years old and needed a blue tooth wall mount . Instead of being called wall mount BT it Is called contemporaryIt didn’t work! Had electrician install it - lost money and time.Good quality- will update when the new BT is installed
