Very nice 10 gallon garbage can. I use it outside when I’m hosting in the backyard. It’s not as unsightly as a large Rubbermaid can and it holds up well. With 10 gallon liners it makes clean up a breeze and I don’t have these massive garbage bags to try and shoehorn into my main garbage for pick up. I’ve used Rubbermaid cans at work for years and I know they are durable. The white cans are a nice touch but I will say grey is timeless.

For many years I was able to simply leave bags of garbage at the curb without issue. Nobody complained and they were never disturbed by wildlife, so I had no pressing need for cans or bins to dispense my trash bags in. Unfortunately, that all changed a couple of years ago when flooding suddenly became a major issue after some changes were made to the local bridges and the road was made wider by filling in the nearby creek, thus making it more narrow. Furthermore, animals of some sort spontaneously began tearing into the bags, leaving an awful mess behind with both the garbage men and myself had to contend with. I had shopped around for garbage bins, but every one I tried proved to be too thin, too light, and too flimsy leading to them being toppled over by the wind or animals. So for a long while I procrastinated about buying some new bins because I figured they'd be no better yet cost more. However, after so long of having to deal with cleaning up spilled trash and lugging around heavy, waterlogged garbage bags, I decided enough was enough, and that I was going to buy at least one good quality garbage can to see if they were really worth the money. My search lead me to the Rubbermade Brute line, and as luck would have it, they were on sale for 33% Off, so I decided to grab two of them for testing and evaluation. Much to my delight, the garbage bins I received were exactly what I needed. They've got enough weight to prevent them from being easily knocked over by wind or animals regardless of whether or not they're full. They're easy to carry by the handles too, which makes taking them to the curb much less strenuous. Best of all, they keep the bags from getting waterlogged or torn into by critters. Well, unfortunately that isn't exactly true, because for some inexplicable reason, these bins don't come with any lids! Yeah, you have to purchase the lids separately, and frankly that just doesn't make any sense to me whatsoever. After all, without lids, these are essentially only good for collecting rainwater. If it's a matter of cost, then just increase the price to include the cost of the lid then sell them together as a bundle. Nevertheless, it's easy enough to order both the bin and lid separately — provided both are instock — and frankly I ended up liking them so much that I immediately ordered two more bins/lids. So they definitely get my recommendation regardless.

Love it and will be buying again strong and reasonable price

I usually have a fairly large can next to/under my desk at home. This is because I spend a LOT of time at my desk and as such also throw a lot of things away while sitting there. I had a Sterlite that had been with me for many years, but it was rather thin and didn't hold up well. After several encounters with duct tape, I finally decided to find another can...preferably, something more durable this time. After searching for several hours I came across this item. I have much smaller versions ON my desk, given to me by vendors over the years and used almost exclusively for pencils and pens. I was much impressed with the pen holder version and decided to give this a try - they had it in the right size and ready to ship so I ordered it. I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the box and it was EXACTLY like the pencil holder version, only sized to fit under my desk. It was sturdy, colorful, fit the trash bags perfectly (no more bulldog clips to hold the bag on), and fit right in the spot my old one left. Aside from being super tough, some other things impressed me about this item; the 13Gal bags fit like a glove and stay in place with no effort at all --- the handles are big and comfy, even if I have something heavy in there I don't worry about cutting or hurting my hands --- there are 'bag holders' next to the handles, which can be a bit confusing at first, but once you figure them out you won't go back to a can that doesn't have them --- this can is slightly wider and somewhat shorter than my last one, so it sits firmly on the floor with almost no chance of being knocked over. If you are looking for a can that is super-duty (and if you include the optional lid) in this rare size, that can do almost anything safely and easily, I would highly recommend this one.

Fits approximately 417 medium sized water balloons. Thick walls, soft bottom, and durable handles. 😆😆😆. Would recommend. The end.

Paid $64.50 for the black 32 gallons. We have been using the Brute garbage bin as planters for years. We have 10, 20, 32, and 44 gallons. The 10 is the perfect size for planting fig trees and moving them indoors for the winter. 20 gallon is perfect for our largest raspberry cultivar. 32 gallons we grow the thornless blackberry. 44 gallons were too big. We drilled 4 large holes on the side for the 20 and 32 gallons, drilled 2 holes on the side for the 10 gallons.
