A Splendid Toslink Optical Audio Cable
I needed a Toslink audio cable to attach a media center computer I had just purchased to my home theater sound system and the fastest, the best, and the least expensive way to get one is to order it from Amazon. I initially ordered this Mediabridge - Toslink Cable - Optical Digital Audio Cable - 10 feet as I had ordered Mediabridge products in the past and was satisfied with them. Not this one, though. I use a C2G / Cables to Go 40324 3-Play Component Video and TOSLINK Digital Audio High Performance Selector Switch (Black) in conjunction with my home theater setup and, though this cable appeared to be well-made, it just would not fit into the Toslink port on the the switch box. I telephoned Mediabridge and they told me that they were aware of their cable not fitting into all devices (this was mentioned in some of the 1-star reviews to which I should have paid more attention). So I returned it to Amazon (an easy and convenient process) and the same day I returned it, I ordered this BlueRigger Digital Optical Audio Toslink Cable(10 feet) . It is very well-made and it fits perfectly into the ports where I need it. Based on its physical design, I am certain that it will fit into any device which uses a Toslink cable. It works perfectly too, carrying and transferring sound in whatever format the source supplies including, of course, full surround sound in DTS and/or Dolby Digital. I always like to have spares so, as this cable delivers excellent value for money and as I like it so much, yesterday I ordered three more of them! I highly recommend this BlueRigger Toslink cable to you. I'm sure you'll like it too.

Not good but this review has been updated
I'm updating my review. The company that sells this cable stands behind their product and refunded my purchase price and they did that on their own with no prompting by myself. Honor is what you do when no one else is looking and I have to give them two thumbs up for that - I doubt many companies back up their products that conscientiously if the product is junk. So, I have to believe that this is actually a good cable and I just got a defective item or an item that has been sold and returned and resold by Amazon, so it's easy to think that the fiber optic core of this particular cable has been damaged or fractured. When the time comes that I am searching for a new toslink cable, I'll definitely keep this one on my list. Having said all that, for any cable, not just this one, test it immediately and if the sound is wrong - send it back right away. Original review below It gets good reviews but I'm not sure how that can be. I got this cable to replace an older and much longer toslink cable that looks a great deal like the Monoprice Premium cable, but is not marked with any company logo. That cable started dropping signal intermittently (the connectors started coming loose) so I replaced it with the BlueRigger cable. Right away I noticed that the sound was a lot different and not in a good way. Harsher, particularly on the high end. Just to be certain, I went back to my older cable, taped the connectors tight with the jacket and magically the sound quality came right back. Lots of folks say that it's just ones and zeros so there's no way that the cable can make a difference in the sound, but my experience is exactly opposite of that. The cable DOES make a difference and this one sucks. Not recommended at all.

Excellent Value from and Excellent Company
This product saved me from having to upgrade my home theater receiver to one with HDMI capability (see description of set-up at bottom if you are interested). Beyond that, the product does exactly what it is supposed to do - run digital sound between components, which in my opinion, is the mark of an excellent product. The cable is also a great value at $7.99 (what I paid in August of 2012) and costs far less than what many competitors charge (including the "bogeyman" of cables). The company appears to have good customer service in that I received an email asking if I was happy with my product, however, because I am, I did not have to test Blue Rigger's service beyond that. As far as quality goes, the cable is sturdy, thin (in a good way - not flimsy), and the connection points are solid and snap snugly into place. I will buy products from Blue Rigger in the future for my connection needs For those interested in my system setup, read on. For the rest, the product review ends here. I ran this cable through the wall to connect it from my Plasma TV to my old Pioneer 5.1 channel receiver and it works perfectly. For those out there wondering why I would use a digital optical cable instead of HDMI, the answer is simple - my receiver is not HDMI capable. One can get around that conundrum though by using the TV itself as the "center" of their system for the input of all signals (thereby using the TV for source switching between Blu-Ray, Cable, Internet TV, etc.), and run the sound through the TV's "output" to the digital "input" on my receiver. This way I get the benefit of a digital picture (via HDMI cables plugged directly into the TV) and 5.1 digital sound (via the digital optical "out" from the TV to the receiver) without having to upgrade my receiver at this point. I ran the same set-up at my parents house years ago and it has been working without a problem ever since (although I can't say there is no user error).

Excellent Product
Excellent purchase. Quality product at an excellent price. There was not a single problem with this product. The end-user must be aware that the cord ends attach to the outlets in a specific configured manner. Easy!! TD

Clean sound, easy install!
So I ran this BlueRigger Toslink cable behind my wall to hook up my TV and soundbar — super easy to feed through with the right tools, and the CL3 rating made it safe for in-wall use. Audio quality is excellent: crisp, no static, and no signal loss even at 15 ft. The cable feels sturdy but flexible enough to route around corners. *** The connectors aren’t quite as snug as my last one, but they stay in place fine and deliver flawless sound. Q: Safe for in-wall use? Yes — it’s CL3 rated and built for that. Q: Works with Dolby/DTS? Absolutely. Handles Dolby Digital, DTS, and PCM without issue. Q: Any signal loss at 15 ft? None Q: Compatible with consoles? Yes — perfect for TVs, soundbars, receivers, Xbox, and PlayStation. My verdict: Solid cable, clean audio, and easy install. Great pick if you’re wiring through walls or need a long, reliable optical connection. ✅ Highly recommended
