SMALLRIG A7S III Cage Only Compatible for Sony Alpha 7S III - 2999

Like most SmallRig gear this is well made and carefully thought out. It's quite basic: if you want a cable clamp or handle you will need to purchase these separately. The design is minimalist - more of a skeleton shell than a full cage which helps keep weight to a minimum. It has plenty of 1/4" mounting points and allows good access to the buttons, dials and articulating screen but it doesn't provide protection to the rear of the camera. The A7S3 is held in place by a single screw which makes removing the cage quick and easy.

I bought this in order to film portrait video and have found it useful in So many ways already. Incredibly light strong and steady and adaptable. Ingeniously designed.

I don't usually like using custom/camera specific cages for my rigs. I have been using my SmallRig universal cages for around 5 years now and they are still great. But I thought I would give this one a go and this cage has changed my mind. Pros: - Solid 1 piece metal construction - Very well made - Smooth/seamless moulded grip - Good sized cut outs for access to all ports, flippy screen and battery door - Integrated loop on the grip to attach strap - Affordable - Easy to mount on a gimbal Cons: - It's fairly easy to install on your camera, but the bolt that attaches to strap loop on the camera is fiddly, difficult to line up and easy to lose. - Built in allen wrench is a nice touch, but it's also really easy to drop or lose. - This is not so much about the cage, but I wish SmallRig would make a cold shoe accessory so I could mount a microphone and monitor on top at the same time.

Like the cage for the A7iii but this one permits access to the battery compartment without removing the cage and adds lots of options for connecting lights, handles and other accessories. Recommended

Product was great. Delivery says handed to resident, it wasn't, it was put behind the bin.

It’s a solid well made cage with plenty of mounting options and easy access for the battery and memory compartments.

I didn't receive the mini tool. Apart from that it's a good product UPDATE!!! they sent a new one out that was part of a much bigger set. I'm very happy with the outcome of this and have already bought more from them with no problems hence the score change

The cage is well designed, you can easily change the battery and the SD cards. The only thing I don’t like is that if you buy a handle for the left side AND using the HDMI cable, then you are running out of space to comfortably grip the handle. So if you using the HDMI cable I strongly recommend to buy a handle for the RIGHT side.
