if you were to get filter bags how many would this fill? and how often would you rinse and change the media? would this media work in the fluval V?

You don't ever want to change the biological media, otherwise you are just throwing away all the beneficial bacteria that has grown on it.

For those of use who don't know about filtration, someone please explain how to use this and other filter media. Where to place it and now to use it.

I use this product as the first stage of filtration in my SunSun canister. I place it n the very bottom, beneath the sponge filters tray. It acts to slow the flow of the water to allow solids to settle and stay trapped. This help to keep the finer sponge filters and polishing filter from clogging.

does this come with a bag to hold the pieces in? if not, dostores sell the bags seperate?

they come in a bag inside of the box. you can take them out of the bag or leave them in it. we take them out because they seem to work better that way.
