Q: What does the Lo mean when turning on the unit?

Hello. The thermometer reads "Lo" if the thermometer is triggered to read a temperature before it is in place, it will read the air directly in front of the sensor. Another reason why the thermometer might read Lo is that the thermometer might have been exposed to an extreme drop in temperature and the unit itself is “cold”. Remove the batteries from your thermometer and place your thermometer in a cabinet or drawer for 1 hour – to warm the unit up. This should reset the thermometer.

Q: This is the second forehead thermometer I've bought in less than a week. Why can't I get them to read higher than 97.3 or 97.4?

I tested it as below to answer the question. My forehead read 97.7, my underarm read 98.6 and I opened my mouth and breathe Reading 99.4 and it beeped 3 times at this temperature because it was high. Point it at my countertop and it read 0 and beeped 3 times.
