Not for beginners
Next level experience. Not the first plane at all. Good quality maneuverable too say the least. Recommend for pilots that have better then Good hand eye coordination. Some assembly required.

Extremely Difficult to Fly
I am an intermediate rc pilot. I've flown for several years and decided to try this plane out because I like bi-planes. On the very first flight, it was so difficult to handle that it flew into trees 50 feet up. (The first time I have ever gotten a plane stuck in a tree!) Despite many hours of trying, I couldn't get it down from the tree 50 feet up. A complete loss! Extremely disappointed!

Flies Great!
The Flight: ------------ Not for beginners - at least with the 14.8/4s battery! The area I fly at ha a rough surface so I have to get off the ground quickly - well, I gave it a little elevator (wasn't running dual rates - should have for the first flight!), and within 10 feet it took off vertical - and kept going! Fairly easy to fly, but its fast - I could think of better beginner models, but I guess this could work if you dual rates, use a 3s batter pack, and keep it slow. Landing was easy - I had a nice head wind and literally set it down from a slow "hover". Does knife edge very easily, vertical / hover is great, inverted flight is as smooth as upright, stalls are gentle and easy to handle - no nasty tip stalls, which should be expected from this type of plane. Battery --------- I used a 14.8v/4s LIPO battery - mine is a little bigger than the 2200mah recommended battery - I used a 3000mah battery - a little heavier. I didn't havre to add any weight to balance - I simply slid the battery pack towards the rear just a little to offset the nose weight. Don't try to use anything bigger than the 3000mah - it BARELY fit (it the battery is too thick, it won't slide in the fuse properly. Other ------- A few caveats - thats why I rated only 4 stars. 1) The ball joints where the rods connect to the control horns. The manual says they bolt is a 3mm hex and the nut is 4mm. Well, the bolt is not hex - it appears to be a philips head. However, I couldn't find a philips head to fit properly - and I have just about every size imaginable, including smaller hobby sets. I ended up taking a small #1 philips head and filed the tip down - it then fit properly. Once I made this mod, securing the control horns was quite easy. Upon further research, I believe this is actually a "JIS" head screw - looks like a philips, but the entry point is more shallow (which explains why I had to file the screwdriver head down) and why no standard bit would fit. I don't have a "JIS" screwdriver, but filing down the #1 bit worked in the JIS type shallow screw. 2) The aileron servos use a simple y-adapter. For some reason, I was getting intermittent "twitching" on one of the aileron servos - everything else was fine. I tried a different receiver, different y-adapter - couldn't clear it up. In the end, I ended up getting rid of the Y-adapter. I connected one server to channel 1 and the other to channel 5 - I used my transmitter and mixed the channels to aileron input (I use a Roadmaster TX16s - OpenTX). This fixed the issue. I am using a FlySky FS-Ia6b receiver - tried two different receivers, had the issue with both. Anyway, once I eliminated the y-adapter and gave each servo its own channel, never had the issue again. I've used these receivers in many other planes paired with the TX16s - so not sure why it only manifested on this plane. It even had the twitching with the TX off - so it wasn't receiving anything one-off from the TX. 3) The spinner doesn't fit very well - I had to trim about 1/8" for it to fit properly. It was able to install all the way - it was hitting the backplate prematurely and I couldn't secure the screw in the front. I trimmed it with a sharp pair of scissors - the plastic is soft and flexible enough to use a scissor. Other than that, great plane. Built very well. Super easy assembly - took me less than an hour (other than fighting the "twitching server" issue and making a tool for the control horn / ball joints / JIS head screw.

Ultimate Deal from Amazon
I bought this plane "Used" from Amazon and was a little scared when I placed the order, but I knew I could return it if there was any problems. Well I'm Happy to say this plane was perfect out of the box and was never assembled. The box was a little rough and had a decent sized hole in it because Amazon shipped it in just the Retail Box instead of putting that box inside another like Horizon Hobby does. Luckily E-fight/Horizon does a great job of packaging their Planes from the Factory. Oh, By the way, This Plane is " The Ultimate ".

Excellent aircraft
While in Safe, real easy to fly! I am an slightly advanced R/C pilot but out of Safe Select, WHAT A BLAST!! I went with the heavier Spar. Real quick responses with lots of power!! ENJOY IT!!

Definitely Fun to Fly, but not for beginners
I've been flying for two seasons now & consider myself an experienced flyer, but not an expert. This plane is really fun to fly, but you definitely need to have some experience under your belt before doing so. I tuned the plane back a little: SAFE turned on & dual rates set @ 30 & 70 percent, I'm a little uneasy about it. I'm doing better each time I put it in the air. If you do buy one of these, make sure you are going with the BNF version, the new AR637T receiver is already to go out of the box.

This is a great 3D plane, it's my second one, but this one the ESC isn't working, it goes into low voltage mode in under 15 seconds of applying power. 3 of my other friends that purchased other planes that were on sale all have the same problem, the air tractor, the P51 mustang, ultimate 3D and the 1.2mm trojan all have the same defect. I purchased a replacement ESC from Amazon because I didn't think they were under warranty. one of my friends is getting a new ESC from Horizon. I purchased the plane October of 2023, didn't get a chance to fly it till a couple of days ago due to the winter weather.

This is my 1st biplane 3d plane. It is quite different than my other 3d planes. You need to pay attention all the time because it wants to do it's own thing. I am still learning it's habits but I am improving each flight. I think it's capabilities are more than my current abilities but I am enjoying it. No crashes yet.
