Worth having!
A great little book which I bought for my wife as our garden gets quite a lot of bird life. This little handy well priced book is just the job for identifying our little feathered friends so I highly recommend it as the coloured pictures are excellent and make identification easy. 5*

10 cm wide paperback (RSPB/DK)
n.b. ‘Features detailed profiles of the top 40 garden birds’ The current stock images (mainly showing double-page spreads) + the 'READ SAMPLE' above give an idea of the layout. First published in 2007, the one I received is 2020 (‘4th edition/revised & updated’). From the back cover (image below refers): 🦉'The complete guide to attracting and identifying garden birds: ~ Expert advice on how to provide water, food, and nesting sites ~ Guidance on which plants to grow to create a bird-friendly environment ~ Essential tips on observing birds, including the basic equipment needed ~ Features detailed profiles of the top 40 garden birds ~ Ideal companion for the RSPB’s Big Garden Birdwatch' ooOoo Measuring just 10 cm wide x 19 cm, this was smaller than anticipated, so I am glad it was 'on sale' when I ordered! In fairness, it does state ‘POCKET’ in the title, and, if you can cope with the text size, it is indeed a handy sized reference to carry out & about. It is basically informative in what it covers and is colourfully illustrated across the 128 shiny finish pages. On the negative side, the detail is dotted around the various sections and I feel that the 4-page alphabetical index at the back could do with the main page of the relevant bird being in a bolder type. The paperback book is tightly bound, but can be persuaded to almost flatten for the best part. In any case, no wording is obscured across the spine area, in my experience.
