SentrySafe Black Fireproof and Waterproof Safe, File Folder and Document Box with Key Lock, Ex. 14.3 x 15.5 x 13.5 inches, HD4100

I finally settled on this safe for my valuables after some long research on Amazon and after returning another safe of different brand I had bought earlier. Oh, boy, this safe is really heavy and durable. It requires a lot of strength to carry. The walls and the cover are very thick. No sharp edges which is a plus for such a heavy item. Good space inside. Has a good lock and its easy to open with a key. However, after some use, the rubber washer inside the door fell off and I had to glue it back in place. Relatively low profile making it easier to hide. Unlike many other safes on Amazon, this one seems well-made with precision.

This safe is BIG and heavy, but was perfect for my needs. Good price (on sale). Very sturdy and secure.

The customer service at SentrySafe/Masterlock is incredible. I had a small issue with my safe, and they made the situation right. I absolutely recommend this product, or another from the Masterlock/SentrySafe product line, because of their response to my issue alone. The safe is alright. It's nothing to write home about, and that is to be expected at under $100. It is the exact width of a "normal" manila folder, and it would be nice if it was just *slightly* wider. I would like if the lid had some sort of resistance to prevent it from being slammed. I don't have any major issues with it and I don't feel as if I'm going to break anything unless there is a manufacturing defect or I mishandle it. The handle does flex a little if you try to open the safe while it is locked, but it fine with normal use. The key isn't reinforced and will bend if you push on it the wrong way. The gasket might fall off and need to be put back into position before shutting the lid again. Those issues don't worry me now that I've dealt with their customer service department. I contacted them for one of the issues I listed above and they fixed the problem quickly and completely. Fantastic customer support. Fantastic customer support.

Nice quality. Yes, the latch is tight. You know when you push the latch down, its nice and snug. Fits nicely in the back of my closet without taking up a lot of room. It's heavy. I couldn't lift it so I slid it down the hall. From looking at the photo you would think A4 folders would fit. They don't, but regular Manila folders do, so I'm OK with that. I feel better that all my original documents, certificates, jewelry, etc. are better protected.

It was very difficult to open upon arrival. I thought at first it was locked but could hear the keys moving around in the safe. What worked best was laying it on its back (back hinge on the ground, latch/key lock facing up) and opening it that way. You do have to use some force to open & close the latch but it audibly clicks once you do open/close it. You shouldn't pull any harder once you hear it click open. Really only needed this to store some paperwork & my passport, great compact size that fits well in a small closet. It fits a standard sized folder width wise without having to crumble or bend.

Great but too heavy for me to lift

It's bigger and heavier than I thought but it appears to work great. While I personally won't be testing the fireproof qualities, lets hope it stands up to a fire if I were misfortunate enough to have one. I can rest easy knowing it is waterproof though. (I HAVE delt with flooding) It fits all my 8.5x11 booklets perfectly and some 11.8 x 9.3 file folders.

Very nice and plenty of room for storing files. It seems durable and is easy to open and close
