Bought this to repair broken cord in Stihl chainsaw ms180c. This is a high quality cord, but it did not fit. Stihl requires a slightly smaller diameter cord. I was able to get a new piece of cord from my local Stihl dealer for a couple of dollars.

Thickness, as advertised, was exactly the same as original. Easy to install on snowblower. Original cord was a bit stretched. This was a little tighter than original, makes for easier starting.

You’re shopping for this rope so you may have been in my situation. It’s raining. It’s cold. The power goes out. You wait a sufficient amount of time and decide it’s time to rev up the old generator. You hook up the generator to your transfer switch, make sure it has gasoline, twist the fuel valve, flip the switch to on, adjust the choke and yank the cord. Yank the cord again. Yank it again and.... Yowww!!!! The cord snaps. When that happens the spring inside comes loose. Arrgghh!I spent an hour taking this mechanism apart and then, using the best part of what was left of the cord, putting it back together - including resetting the spring - and got the generator running. (Not bad I guess considering I'd never done this type of repair before.) Then I came in the house and ordered this rope. I was going to order a shorter three foot length of cord, but thought better of it. What if it’s not long enough? What if I screw up installing the new cord? I ordered this to have some extra length and what I don’t use I’ll store inside so it doesn’t deteriorate and I can use it again to replace my pull cord every six months or so until I run out. (Should have been doing that anyway. Better do the lawn mower.) Easier to do when I want to do it rather than when I have to do it.This cord worked perfectly for my generator and I’m glad to have the extra length on hand. I may see if I can use some of it to fix the rototiller that my son decided was too much trouble to repair. (He went out and bought a new tiller instead.) Well, next spring maybe. Not gonna mess with it in this cold weather.There’s really not a lot you can say about a piece of rope, but as I said, it fixed my generator and I have extra for later or other uses. I was very careful when it came to getting the right size rope. I knew I didn't want to go over 5mm and no smaller than 4mm. 4.5mm was perfect for me. You don't want too thick and you don't want too thin. Do a little research for your application before ordering or you may be disappointed.

I wear down cords on a regular basis. My equipment is used for putting down lines on asphalt and other surfaces. I need my machines to start and its frustrating when a starter cord breaks. Hence, the purchase of this cord. Alleviate stress.
