Spectre Performance SPE-9849 4" Single Air Intake Plenum

Nice product and good performance with the cold air

I had a makeshift cold air intake but it was only 3”. I wanted a 4” and have looked at this for over 2 years. Well I finally did it and I love it! They sell the carb hat, tube and an inline air cleaner. It wasn’t cheep but I now have a 4” ram scoop cold air intake and I am super happy I finally did it. The carb hat is nice. I still think it’s far too expensive but there are no other options. Fits a 4 barrel perfectly. Tube runs below my front bumper to pick up air as I drive.

These are awesome for a DIY intake on Magnum360. Great fit and finish. Will fit GM350 and many others I am sure. Coupled with 4” silicone boot, 4” aluminum tube cut down, to a Donaldson filter, with RiffRaff pre-filter. All but the pre-filter came from Amazon.

Great carb hat for the price, I ran this on a sbf 302 with a single turbo kit and ran just under 20psi through it and held up just fine.

Cast aluminum construction, so you will need a Dremel to cut the pieces of casting flash off of the ID of the Carb hat. Pretty good looking to compliment the rest of the chrome ducting I had fabbed up previously. Still a bit on the expensive side, considering the slop, the hat would slide around even on top of a carburetor mounting flange of 5 1/8. When bolted down, looks good and no shimmy.

I like the fact that what I saw online is the same as what was delivered to me at my door. I used this to integrate a cold air intake system on my 73' GMC from the front of the truck to an air cleaner box to a Holley 2300 two bbl carburetor. Fitment was excellent, and the product performed as expected. It will also fit most 4 bbl carburetors, which I may use it for later. It was a little on the expensive side considering it's purpose, but worth the money in the end.

THE DESCRIPTION SAYS ITS NOT FOR BOOST/ FORCED INDUCTION. BUT THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT I WILL BE USING IT FOR. TURBO CHARGER ON A I-6 ENGINE. SEEMS TO BE PLENTY WELL MADE FOR THAT. I HAVE MADE MY OWN PREVIOUSLY FROM WELDED SHEETMETAL BUT THIS SAVES ME A TON OF TIME.

This looks like a great air intake plenum.... The correct size for a standard carburetor type air filter location install, Came wrapped up in a non scratch bag in a nice box .... It's correctly machined and has a great shine on it also.... I'm a happy customer

Item is as described. It's a brilliant item unfortunately didn't fit my purpose. My fault. I didn't measure properly. I would definitely do business with Amazon again. Fast sending and items are as described.

La pieza es de aluminio sólido, muy buen acabado, pulido y venía bien empacada. Una vez ya instalada se ve magnífica y sienta perfecto en la base del carburador, en este caso uso un Holley 4412 de 500cfm. Aunque es muy probable que se requiera algún tubo/acoples adicionales para alejar más el filtro de aire. En mi caso tuve que hacer esto último porque el cofre no cerraba bien porque pegaba en el diámetro del filtro, sin embargo ya con la extensión quedó perfecto. Es una pieza bastante recomendable para los vehículos carburado ya que originalmente con el filtro redondo absorben aire "caliente" de los manifolds y en cambio usando esto permite una captación de aire más fresco. Definitivamente sí la recomiendo. Saludos

funciona perfecto , le puse una manguera de 4" y ya puede instalar un filtro de alto flujo en otra parte del coche, no tuve problemas con la altura en un malibu 81, apesar de tener un plato adaptador para un carburador street demon.
