Iberia Saladito Lightly Salted Plantain Chips , 20 Oz.

These were excellent. It’s like a mix between banana chips and potato chips, both in flavor and texture. They smell and taste like fried plantains and are lightly salted as described (the perfect amount in my opinion). The texture is just slightly crunchier than a potato chip. They also seem fresh and there was a best by date printed on the lid. There was a seal underneath there too, which I appreciate. The container is large, about 20 servings or so. MY ONLY CRITIQUE is the lid tho. It could screw on tighter to preserve the freshness, but it’s slightly flimsy. No big deal for me tho because I’ll be finishing them quickly LOL.

This is The Missus reviewing. I love plantains in entrees so at first I was disappointed - not sweet enough. However, I realized that I'm so used to sweet snacks that, duh, this was most likely the problem. I liked the crunch and discovered something delightful: the middle of each chip is slightly tart, giving a tiny burst of zing in each bite! And they weren't so hard that I thought I'd break my teeth. Yeah, I ate the whole 20 oz in, like, a week. Or less. Less. I'll be buying more after I finish a different snack I've ordered. Glad I found these. Affordable for me, too.

These garlic flavored plantains are so good, they are almost addictive. You can't eat just one! We liked them so much we placed them on our monthly subscriptions. They arrived in great condition with just a few broken pieces as would be expected from delivery. If you like crunchy garlic flavored chips, you won't be disappointed.

I bought the 3 bundle of Sweet, Garlic, and Lightly Salted. The lightly salted is actually BARELY salted. I rather a different brand (Nezka) that is lightly salted and very good. Iberia could add just a bit more salt to theirs. But I will say, if you buy a bundle, eat these with the Garlic, because those are TOO salty. So eating them together balances out. The Sweet were great, amazing, no qualms, 10/10. I just wish these lightly salted ones were as hard and crunchy as the Sweet and Garlic. But they are light and crisp instead. That was my main letdown, the other two have an amazing crunch! As far as repurchase, I'll probably do the bundle again, so I can mix the garlic and lightly salted chips together in a bowl. Good purchase.

We have them on subscription and my son wants me to increase delivery frequency. Hard to find sweet plantains locally, though the grocery store has salted and sugar-added banana chips. I prefer these style, no sugar added, just ripened before dehydration

Was looking for a different type of chip but unfortunately not a fan of these. Prepare your teeth for one tough chip. Actually was painful to bite down & my teeth are in very good health. These would be great for dipping since they are tough but ours also arrived crumbled to bits, very few whole chips. Better to buy at store so can get a whole container of chips that are not crumbled to pieces. Flavor is good but just way too hard to chew.
