Impact driver bit selection
Torx bits seem OK so far, but nearly all the Philips bits have shattered after only a few uses.

You get what you pay for.
Since I own an impact driver I thought I would buy a set of impact rated bits, I wasn't keen on spending a lot on bits since I rarely use an impact so I settled on this Hi-Spec set. I am happy to say that these are impact rated, I put together some palette wood garden planters with it and my Phillips bit happily drove wood screws in without shattering. Despite that I can't say the same for tradesmen who may use an impact for more heavy duty purposes like driving lag screws through denser wood. I haven't used my bits for long and the thin protective black coating is starting to wear off on my Phillips bit. I would maybe go for a nicer set for heavy duty tasks. I do enjoy the variety of bits though, some more expensive bit sets use more generalized and standard bits and it's in a quite compact box which is great for portability.
