Alexander Girard Blocks

Alex Girard is one of my heroes and he definitely inspires my own work. I can't afford his original pieces,but I CAN set these charming blocks out on my coffee table,fireplace bench,or even the living room floor to bring the Joy of Girard into my home!

These blocks have great designs. The description does not tell you that they're made of cardboard with paper patterns pasted on - they wouldn't be at all good for small children who might try to put them in their mouths, and I don't think they'd hold up to much rough play. I was hoping for wooden blocks. They looks great on a shelf though, and would be a good executive desk toy.

These are paper blocks not wood. The art is glued to the side of the paper boxes. Nowhere does it say not wood blocks.

Blocks are printed incorrectly so the "puzzle" aspect only works for one side.

These many faceted cubes invite a range of experiments in form and colour simply by moving them around and observing the changing effects offered by the variety of juxtapositions. Endlessly fascinating a child might begin to create their own effects based on the cubes they learn to make for themselves.

Lovely puzzle with beautiful artwork, makes for a perfect interior -design detail :-) Fits perfectly with the Girard wooden dolls. More of a adult accessory than a childrens toy though, since it's quite fragile.
