Zuzu Luxe Mascara 0.25 Oz Clear

I have been using this mascara for over 5 years. I wear it daily and a tube lasts about 6 months for me. This mascara is easy to apply, does not clump, holds my eyelashes in place, and is water resistant. No, it is not waterproof, but I also don't look like a raccoon by the end of the day. Because it is not waterproof, it is easy to remove at the end of the day. I really like the design of the application brush as it helps to apply the mascara without lumps, clumps, and stuck together eyelashes. I wear contact lenses every day and this mascara does not bother my eyes. A while ago I ran out of this mascara and purchased another natural brand at my local natural foods store. That mascara was more expensive, but I needed it right away. I was so disappointed in the more expensive mascara! It was stinky, had a lower quality application brush, and made my eyelashes stick together. I will be sticking with my tried and true Zuzu Luxe mascara.

My new favorite! I put this to the TEST... Halloween was a full deluge and even with umbrellas we all got soaked while trick or treating with the kiddos. This mascara didn't budge. Even getting hit right in the face with raindrops. No flaking or smudging AT ALL. Also, you can forget you're even wearing it because it's so light and comfortable on my lashes. I used oil to remove and it came off easily without any rough scrubbing needed.

I really like this mascara. The color is great and there is absolutely no clumping. Not sure about water resistant. Maybe it's just not tear proof.

Let me start with a positive — the Zuzu Luxe Cream Brow Pencil is FANTASTIC. Great ingredients, color, and works well. Have used it daily for a few years now. It made me want to use only this brand for the minimal makeup I wear. So I tried the clear mascara — this product is ridiculous. I’m convinced it’s water in a tube. It does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. (Well — if you use it on your brows, it actually removes the brow pencil since it performs as water…insane). Admittedly, I’m extra fired up because I mistakenly subscribed, apparently, so now I have two of this expensive, unusable product. As a last ditch effort, I tried adding some cacao and charcoal to tint it and maybe make it do something at all…the tint was apparent on my lashes after approximately 17 coats, but zero mascara performance whatsoever. Please don’t even call this mascara. Buy the brow pencil, but definitely not this.

I am completely thrilled with this mascara!!! I had been on a long journey looking for a mascara with specific qualities and this one surpassed my expectations! Here is my personal experience - First, the Espresso shade is SO beautiful! Most brown mascaras on the market look seemingly black but this one actually looks like a rich brown without being too light of a brown. For me it’s the perfect shade! Second, this has amazing staying power (all day) and doesn’t flake off or fade. I can reliably expect beautiful eyelashes with every single application. I also find it’s nicely volumizing with minimal effort but not in a fake or heavy looking way. Third and best of all, I’ve noticed my eyelashes are growing back in using this solely (I was losing eyelashes due to using overly heavy and waxy mascaras previously that this thankfully does not contain). Even my chronic dry eye is improving and I believe it’s partly switching to this mascara since early July. This does not contain any waxes such as carnauba wax that can clog the oil glands around the eyes causing/contributing to dry eye. The clean ingredients make me so happy as I will only use clean makeup! I also have sensitive eyes to make-up in general and this causes me zero irritation. Your products are completely amazing and I’m especially thrilled with this one! Please, don’t ever stop making it!! Customer for life here!

Makes lashes long but without the thick clumpy look

Similar to the eyeliner review - this mascara is pretty good. It's more natural and I feel safer with this on my eyelashes. My lash fall out is less than it was with all other mascaras. I've tried many from Ulta and drugstores, some being more natural others not so much. None seemed to be that amazing and a lot of them bothered my eyes. Due to thyroid issues, my lashes have kind of suffered so I really need some mascara and liner to let people see I do have eyes and eyelashes. I decided to try some more natural makeup. I looked all over the place and decided to try this one first. Now, I wasn't expecting amazing lashes. This coats the lashes nicely, giving a bit of length and intensifying my color, which looks really nice. If you want more volume, you'll need a second coat. It's not going to add incredible volume, but I think it looks as good as any other mascara without all the poopy. Here's the downfall for me, after a week or so the mascara started to smell kind of strong. Not like a going bad smell, mind you, just strong. The smell has gotten worse to where it burns my eyes when I take the brush out of the tube. Add onto that that the mascara has begun to disappear off my lashes a bit. It's not quite flaking, I don't see it under my eyes. But it is obviously flaking a bit INTO my eyes, which I don't realize because I don't feel it, but it's still not good. I could have gotten a wacky tube. I'd say this mascara is pretty good, and I'd chose it over drugstore stuff just for the ingredients. But my eyes are a bit burny and so...I guess I'll have to try something else. :(

I honestly don't know what all the complaints are about here. It's *clear* mascara. It's not going to give you a bold, dark look. It gives lashes a wet look but more defined. If you've never tried a clear mascara, I suggest you go with a cheaper one, just to see if it's for you. It's a cheap experiment ... but I'll tell you, if you decide you like it, go with this one after you've finished your cheap stuff. Unlike some other brands of clear mascara, it doesn't get all white and dried out over time and flake off into your eyes. I suffer from dry eye syndrome and my eyes have become sensitive to freaking everything. This mascara does not irritate my eyes at all and I love it. Due to my condition, I still try to stay away from my water line when applying it, but I figure I coat all but the millimeter or so of my lashes that are closest to my skin with this stuff and I have no eye issues. I use it pretty much daily. If I want a little bolder look, I put plenty of this on, then while it's still wet, I immediately put a little organic brown or black mascara on just the ends of my lashes (think: the end half of their length). Then I comb them to define and they look great all day. Comes off easily with water or micellar water.
