Best external drive I've owned
Best external drive I've owned. Reliable, fast read/write capabilities, portable. I use it for audio projects and have no issue running my pro tools sessions from it on both my pc and Mac. Would highly recommend

Was good while it worked
Was good while it worked. Now, when its plugged the light comes on but the computer doesn't recognize the device on either fire wire or USB. It looks more sturdy that it is - you can hear stuff moving around when you shake it lightly. Also, front screws come off too easily

Stuggling to get this Drive to Work on my PC
I got this drive thinking it was going to be my main drive for recording and mixing on the go, both video and audio productions. The drive seem to work great on my Mac using Fire-wire 800. Things changed when I brought the drive back to the studio and hooked up to my PC. I'm constantly getting connection issues, extremely slow transfer rates on USB 3.0 and Fire-wire 400. The ESATA would not even connect to try that. It completely locked up my computer. I did grab a 5V DC adapter and hooked it up to the drive to see if that would help. It stabilized the data connection on USB 3.0, but the transfer speeds are still super slow compared to my Seagate USB 3.0 drive. Seems to not have any problems on a Mac. If I still had the box I would return it.

Stay away! Very expensive hard drive that doesn't meet the expectations of an audio/video professional. It always worked fine under firewire 800, but would eject itself when using USB 3.0 connection (I tried 3 different computers). Glyph talked me into getting an external power supply, claiming it would solve my problems. I spent $20 on the power supply and no, it didn't solve the problem. The front screws came off within the first two weeks of use, and I had to tape the face plate to the enclosure. After hours of contacting the support and attempts on formatting the drive on all different ways, I finally sent it back. They replaced it for a new one, that works under USB 3.0, but one of the screws on the front plate is already missing.

DIED after 6 weeks of use. Failed to mount on any computer. I'm sending it in to Glyph, who are saying they'll do a basic attempt at data recovery but nothing more. Has the company changed recently?

Not As Advertised
This was supposed to be a brand new drive, which, according to the manufacturer, is default formatted for apple OS. The drive I received was formatted for windows, which meant it was re-formatted by a previous owner, and sold as new by this vendor. It was advertised and priced like a new drive, not a reconditioned one. It may have been perfectly functional, but I didn't want to take any chances with the terms of the manufacturer's data recovery warranty. I gave this vendor two stars, rather than one, only because I was able to return it for a full refund, with free shipping, without any hassle.
