Fantastic Hard Drive
A great little hard drive, small with very quick read and write speeds, I'm getting around 940mbs on read and write, a little expensive but it does work, I suppose you do get what you pay for sometimes, very pleased

Perfect for 4K Videographers
Needed ssd's that could handle a lot of 4K video footage and then playback effortlessly when editing ... this piece of equipment does exactly that. It's fast, very fast. I have 4 x 4tb ... all totally reliable.

Excellent Product
Great quality product at a great price. Fast secure delivery. I would say there is a lack of instruction on set up but my Mac seemed to know what to do rather than me!

Not fit for purpose
Not suiable for formatting drive using APFS, as needed for the latest macOS SIERRA 10.12.6 and younger versions. Returned via amazon, no problems, as was not fit for purpose. Seagate customer services made a brave unsuccessful attemp to help me, over a few hours. Also, the cable provided was far too short, so tended to unplug itself, as well.

Fastest SSD I've used
I needed a new temporary storage solution, where I could edit photos and particularly videos, without a hard drive with a spinning disk holding up my workflow so I researched a number of SSDs but the one I chose in the end was the LaCiE Rugged SSD Pro. Apparently, although it's not the fastest on the market, it has a longer-term ability to read and write than many if not all of its direct competitors. The LaCie is also rugged enough to chuck in a bag and go and it's also supposed to be reasonably water resistant. Who could ask for more? I would have given five stars but the price was almost unjustifiable for me. Well done LaCie.

Good, does what it should do
Bought as a photograph store for my digital photos. As my MacBook has insufficient storage. It works well with no issues. Runs cool and with a transfer rate that suits me.

I want more of them
Too expensive. It's the best I ever owned: fastest, smallest, rugged - definitely durable - wouldn't allow to drop it though not even for testing.. - recovery promise is also encouraging - hope to never need one. Would definitely buy again, in fact I am keep looking at the prices when will drop again, as definitely will buy one or even two more - maybe bigger than 1 TB.

Excellent robust Thunderbolt external storage
Unused Thunderbolt ports on my old Mac - I wanted to get an external SSD to use them. Old Mac so only Thunderbolt 1 (no power for device, so bought an external powered Dock. Also bought a Thunderbolt 1 to 3 adapter and a Thunderbolt1 cable. Now all works fine. It should work straight into Thunderbolt 3 on newer Apple devices.

Dysk trafił do mnie w nienaruszonym opakowaniu ( zaklejone pudełko ) Po podłączeniu go do świeżo zakupionego laptopa wyposażonego w port Thunderbolt 4, dysk nie "zgłosił się" i nie był widziany w managerze dysków ( Win 11 pro ). Sprawdziłem ten dysk na innym urządzeniu jaki posiadam czyli Microsoft Surface Pro 9, który posiada 2 porty Thunderbolt 4. W żadnym z tych portów dysk również nie działał. Sprawdziłem zatem podłączając dysk za pomocą zwykłego kabla USB-C do obydwu laptopów. Za każdym razem otrzymywałem komunikat " Żądanie nie powiodło się z powodu krytycznego błędu sprzętowego urządzenia" Cała ta sytuacja jest kompromitująca f-mę LaCie, która wypuszcza "w świat" produkt niesprawny. Jest to druga wpadka tego producenta bo w domu posiadam inny dysk zewnętrzny, który jest nie do końca sprawny. Sprzedawca czy Amazon.pl zachował się wzorowo i natychmiast zwrócił pieniądze po odesłaniu przeze mnie dysku.

Meilleur prix trouvé sur Amazon. Rarement on peut trouver mieux. Mais ne pas oublier que ce SSD hyper protégé fait mieux que les autres avec un débit bien supérieur (voir ces caractéristiques et possibilités sur la fiche technique du fabricant). Pas de regret pour cet achat qui correspond bien à mes attentes.....laissant tous les autres derrière qui plafonnent à 1050 Mo/s.

Dejo esta primera reseña para indicar en principio que las velocidades medidas, en mi opinión están muy bien . Hasta ahora trabajaba con un SSD 2TB Samsung shield t7, y no he tenido ningún problema en 2 años de uso y trabajando mucho con archivos de video. Las pruebas las he realizado en un MACBOOK PRO M1 DEL 2020. Ahora he comprado este nuevo disco de LACIE, y solo he probado las velocidades que se obtienen, tanto con el formato exFat que llevaba, como con el cambio de formato a Mac OS Plus. Podréis ver en el video que respecto al Samsung la diferencia es muy grande, pero en cambio la diferencia de velocidad entre exFat y Mac OS Plus no es mucha. También probé con el cable que lleva el disco, y con un cable en principio mejor, y la verdad, prácticamente no varían las velocidades. La idea es utilizar este disco para instalar algunas aplicaciones como CAPCUT y la de Insta 360 studio y así no castigar la memoria interna del MAC. Espero que fucnione bien. Saludos
