All that Glitters: Turning Basic into Treasure
After purchasing office chair wheels that were missing gold paint in the inner wheel, I ordered this gold paint to fix them up. I chose this specific product because it closely matched the look I was going for. To my surprise, it worked out really well and matched the color perfectly. Now, I keep this paint on hand for future projects where I need a gold color. The color is a beautiful polished gold that doesn't look cheap or tacky. There are several things I appreciate about this gold paint. Firstly, it's easy to apply to metal surfaces and clings well to them. It also looks fantastic on wood. The consistency of the paint is not like traditional paint but more like glue, which I love. I only needed one or two coats to achieve my desired effect. The paint is thick but not too thick, making it easy to apply evenly. Even when working on intricate designs, like the wooden Crosses I painted, the paint dried quickly and applied evenly, only requiring a touch-up on areas I overlooked or didn't apply enough to. I would use a clean brush to remove excess when I applied too much. Cleaning up the paint is also a breeze. It peels off skin like a layer of wax and doesn't leave any permanent stains. The brushes I painted with also cleaned up easily by soaking them in water. During clean-up, I noticed that the water was full of tiny weighted particles of gold, which was pretty cool. The quality of this paint is amazing for my specific usage, and I don't see any reason to change it up unless I wanted a different color. The 2oz size will definitely go a long way, and I'm already planning on ordering more in the future. I would highly recommend this product for its beautiful color and excellent application. Wonderful paint
I'm going to start out by telling you that this is not the best, most lustrous, and accurate gold paint out there. It's simply not, but I'm very ok with that, because it's still really close. You see, the problem with all of the really good metallic paints is that they are generally toxic and give off horrendous odors. I am of the opinion that trading a bit of quality for a lot of safety is worthwhile, and that's where this stuff really wins me over. I've used a lot of acrylic gold paints in my hobbies, and this is by far the best of the lot. I'm also pretty sensitives to smells, and I can say the odor on this is very low and in line with other acrylic paints, so it's not going to stink up your house. The paint is smooth, not runny, and can be applied very evenly with ease. The only point of contention is the price, which is quite a bit higher than you would expect for an acrylic paint of this volume, however, as there is not a good competitor in this space that comes close to this particular line, it's just something you will have to put up with if you want the best of the best when it comes to acrylic gold.

Elegant and a perfect match
Matches beautifully to my frame, and I’m obsessed with this gold regardless. It looks so antique! Here I was working on a little framed quill art that didn’t quite fit this frame I loved so decided to paint the background myself. It matches the gold from the frame so well!!!

Great color that looks like oil paint
Deep, rich Gold paint that is water based yet rich enough to appear as oil paint. I am very happy with this paint

Overall works as advertised
Color is good, bit thin and did require 2 coats to cover some sparse spots but overall not a big deal and I’m satisfied with how things turned out

Perfect match for plein air gilded frame
Perfect match for a plein air gilded frame. I had a painting fall down and the frame chipped in places, but I was able to cover up the marks with this paint and it looks great!

Beautiful Gold Paint
This is my “go to” gold paint for everything! The color is beautiful. Its texture goes on smooth. You can build the layers based on the thickness for your items coverage. I recommend painting a layer of black paint under this to give it a smoother and shinier finish. It hasn’t chipped and I haven’t had to seal it, so I’d say it’s a durable paint. Make sure you shake or stir really well to ensure the color is mixed well into itself. It’s not too thin or too thick. Good for paper, plastic, wood and metal. I use this for my dollhouse and diorama finishes. HIGHLY recommend.
