Great, spicy, fresh
Full disclosure: I have been eating VERY spicy food since childhood. Before I had children, I used to slice habaneros directly into my food. I can't do that anymore because habaneros leave my hands spicy (no matter how carefully I wash them or how much vinegar I use) and then I can't touch my kids, lol. So, I have relied on various powders. This powder is excellent. I have bought it twice now and it arrived fresh and pungent each time. It packs all of the kick of fresh habaneros. For those of you who are not familiar with habaneros, I warn you that they are some of the spiciest peppers available. It is not just that they are spicy, but also where they are spicy: your mouth. Compared to the ghost pepper (naga jolakia), habaneros leave your mouth on fire for a lot longer. In comparison, ghost peppers hit hard, but fade quickly. Typically, I use half a teaspoon for a cup of rice and stir fry, but I have been eating spicy food my entire life. If you are new to spicy food (and, for instance, consider Tabasco to be spicy), use no more than an eighth of a teaspoon per 4 cups of rice. This powder is a beautiful thing. I love spicy food
This powder is a beautiful thing. I love spicy food, and after my favorite spicy seasoning salt (made with habanero powder) was discontinued, I was forced to search for a replacement. I was amazed, excited, and a little daunted when I began searching Amazon. This product caught my eye above all others, as not only was it very reasonably priced (especially compared to like products), but it was straight habanero powder. When I received it, I put it on the first thing I had: shrimp fried rice. I'd only mixed in a small amount as on the side of the label it shows "300,000+ SHU". For those of you that don't know, that stands for Scoville Heat Unit and is the closest thing to an actual unit of measure for rating the heat of a pepper. Just to give you a more common reference, a jalapeno only registers between 3,500 to 4,500 units on this scale. I added about the right amount, as that tingle and heat we all love was ever present after a few bites to let it warm up. My niece had a few bites and stopped eating though, as she said her lips were numb, lol. I did put about half of the 8 ounce container into a larger shaker and mixed it with about equal parts sea salt. This had two benefits beyond bringing the temperature down. First, it makes it easier to put on food as this product is habanero powder, nothing more (just as I wanted), and as such it has a tendency to clump, especially when moisture is involved. Second, and perhaps more important for those with adventurous children about the house, it keeps the powder from puffing into the air as much, which can lead to it getting into the nose or even eyes if you're not careful (as I found out during the first use, giving me a greater respect for the powder, lol). This is the first and only habanero powder I've gotten, as it's exactly what I wanted, so when I want some more, this is what I'll be getting.

Everything from Sonoran Spice is the best quality. It’s spicy and has that great habanero flavor.

Excellent Flavor and Heat
I wish I would have found this habanero powder sooner. It has a really good flavor and definitely enough heat. I transferred some of the powder to a different shaker because the shaker it comes in does have big holes. I like to shake a bit of habanero on a lot of different food to give it that kick, and glad I found this powder, it's just what I've been looking for. I told my wife to get me the 3 pack with reaper and ghost for Christmas, can't wait!

Fruity smell and taste! Exactly what I was looking for.
I’ve tried lots of different habanero powders out there. After a long search, I finally found one that is exactly what I expected! Sonoran’s habanero powder manages to capture that fruity, bell-peppery scent and taste! I’m amazed! No smokiness (which I find in pretty much every other brand I’ve sampled), and tastes exactly as a purely dehydrated form. This is as pure of the stuff as I’ve ever come across, and is now my go-to brand.

Now one of my staple spices
A little goes a very, very long way. This will probably last me a year or more and I use it at least every other day. Doesn't have as much habanero flavor as I was expecting; but I bought it primarily to add heat to foods. I use this stuff to augment my take-out Chinese food, frozen precooked Asian cuisine, chicken soup, and the meats I cook for fajitas. At first I thought that buying this may have been a mistake, but since using it I've definitely upped my tolerance for the heat and do like the type of heat that it adds to food. The one major complaint I have for this product is that the powder is extremely fine and does somewhat become airborne. I have to hold my breath when I use it and continue to hold my breath while stirring it in and until I can get at least 5 feet away. Otherwise I'll experience some burning in my nostrils and sometimes go into a sneezing fit. But I would much rather have this issue than have something added to it to reduce the granularity.

Great product at a good price
This habanero powder is exactly what I was looking for. It is REAL habanero powder, which is not easy to find at such a good price. It has a mellow, strong heat, and it permeates whatever dish I put it on. Usually I use it in pad Thai, and it makes it very spicy. My toddler ate a small amount and promptly ran across the room saying "Milk cup!" and drank some milk to mitigate the heat, then came back for more, and repeated this process until she rubbed her eyes, which is ill advised, and she had to have her eyes washed, as well as her hands. So be careful not to get it in your eyes or on sensitive skin, and be careful how much you use at first, because it is very potent. Bottom line: this is fantastic, and priced very reasonably.

Fire in the hole!
Does the grocery store run of the mill pepper selection not tingle your bunghole? Or does the mundane selection of pandering to audiences leave your taste buds wanting? The Sonoran Spice company has you covered! From the Hatch Chile to the venerable Carolina Reaper, the sonoran spice company is preparing all the peppers so you don't have to. I began with this habanero powder. Looking for a way to elevate my hotness! It has done the trick. It has also opened my eyes you the flavors that are to be had as well as heat. I recently had to leave Amazon to fulfill my sonoran spice needs. You see I'm chasing down thier scotch bonnet stuff. I made an almost 50 dollar commitment to sonoran spice. Covering my green Chile's for some next level verde, both hatch and serano (because jalapeños for chumps!). I got the aji Amarillo and the scotch bonnet too. I picked up some flakes in bonnet and serano too to put in sauces. I'll be back for more I'm sure. I might want those aji Amarillo flakes, and I'm still missing ghost powder. Though I did get the free scorpion powder, and it's pretty close on Scoville I think.
