If you liked the author's first novel, "One Tenth of the Law," you'll love "Prime Cut." Peden injects a fast-paced action/thriller with a finely-crafted literary voice seldom found in contemporary fiction. I felt I was part of the story, dealing with setbacks and insurmountable challenges, fighting against all odds against a seemingly invincible cartel. The characters in Peden's world are real, their emotions and roadblocks out in the open, just like real life. No Jason Bourne or Jack Reacher with unlimited resources, just a wounded veteran who goes to extreme lengths for his family. This plot is tight with twists I never saw coming and the final chapters topped off a well-crafted tale of revenge and redemption. And the ending, well, let's just say it was more than a surprise. Don't miss this gem. You'll be wanting more.

Peden's story of an ex-special forces soldier, Pat Grainger, bent on justice after his daughter is wounded in a drive-by shooting is thrilling and engrossing. Love blinds caution as Grainger goes after the criminals, uncovering more than the abusive treatment of animals related to the shooting. The plot moves and twists and turns, and kept me turning the pages. He is a master at writing short chapters that keep the reader wanting more after each one.

This is an action packed suspense novel that has multiple twist and keeps you on the edge of your seat wondering what is next. If you like the writings of authors like... Lee Childs, Clive Cussler, and that genre, you will love this book.

I can tell Patrick Grainger is going to be a favorite of mine. This was very thought provoking- details often gory and unsettling, but it certainly didn't keep me from finishing.

Patrick Ranger is back at it in another white-knuckle story. Peden knows how to spin a gripping tale!

Thriller supreme-can' wait for the next one!
