Silhouette Alta Plus 3D Printer with Cooling Fan and Modular Printer Head

I really was worried I was going to have to take a whole day to figure out how to use this thing...I plugged it into my PC with no luck, the program wouldn't even download. I plugged it into my Laptop and PURE JOY!!! I have made 4 cookie cutters already, testing out the different functions. Draft prints faster but the quality is crap. Like they always say, pick 1 of 2. Fast but it won't be good.I love the size, it fits right on the corner of my desk. I just don't like how hard it is to get off the plate. I found that using force is ok, it won't break

I purchased this product to make cookie cutters and used it for about a year. Sorry to say that there are better and cheaper products on the market that will give you perfect prints and you won’t have to struggle with feeding the filament through or a tiny print bed.

I really wanted this 3-D printer to work. But the print quality just wasn’t there. I tried adjusting temperature, first layer settings, many, many calibration corrections. The primary problem is the first layer. If you could get it to print the first layer it did a pretty good job. Unfortunately that was maybe 10% of the time. Contacting silhouette support was useless. There was no phone number to contact. The chat was unavailable day or night. Email help was returned 3 to 4 days later. That is no help So we wasted lots and lots of time and print filament and ultimately send it back to Amazon.

The media could not be loaded. I was constantly trying to use silk pla and it just would not work. I did some research and found my temps were just too low. Now, three years later, it's been a game changer raising the temps all the way for the pretty silk pla I love so much. Also, when calibrating, it needs to be scratchy on the paper, like a couple steps more and it'll get stuck. Good luck and dont give up. It's mostly user error.

If you want this printer, you should be familiar with Silhouette Studio Software, there are not many 3D models available in the Silhouette Design Store, but you can open .stl files that you find on Thigiverse or other sites. Or you can buy some on Etsy. You can convert Silhouette Store Designs into 3D, there are YouTube videos to watch. This craft/hobby takes time to learn and perfect your skills. I came to this craft with several years experience with Cricut and Silhouette cutting machines. Happy Printing.

The media could not be loaded. I LOVE the Silhouette Alta Plus!! It’s easy to use and fun to explore what can be made. The materials are inexpensive and the options are endless for creativity at home!! My kids also love to use the Alta for toy figures, character themed items and just a exploring 3-D printing at an entry/crafting level.

I do not recommend this to anyone. The price is horrible for what you are getting. You are getting trash.

TODAY AUG 21,2020 I RECEIVED A NEW ONE. WE PURCHASED HERE ON AMAZON- WE DID NOT PURCHASE FROM A 3RD PARTY TO AMAZON..WE BELIEVED IT WAS SILHOUETTE ON AMAZON!ITS NOT HAPPY- THE BRACKETS ARE OFF THE CHANS-CROOKED THE SPOOL IS NOT TO SPECS?PRAY4ME PLEASE........ I WILL UPDATE THIS IF ALL GOES WELL.. PRAY! PLEASE BE WELL... HERE I GO!I have issues With a Company , THAT still is continuing to sell Models of ALTA PLUS and ALTA and ,they cant connect- to MAC Book Pro, There is No support other than Chat- and its just a script ...I personally have waited 5+ hours a day +a day after and then after and WAIT for SAT and SUN to go by to WAIT AGAIN!waiting on your device -nothing happening and your are just looking at a chat Mind the Time marking its evasive of fact. a'hour ago- I email and then Update to 2 hours and so on... !At least they offer the Alta Plus ,possibly connecting by Using BETA software "while Still selling BOTH versions ... selling Alta knowing that a 3d printer needs a fan to cool the Object that is that hot hot plastic, and if no FAN to seal this process, Under what your printing- It will be melted falling upon its self and or Dragging its self around the plate.ITS NO home run , the ALTA or Alta Plus, anyone that would allow customers to be treated like I have been THINK , Understand Alta PLUS has a FAN and a restyled head- but still THEY DO NOT connect!and its BECAUSE THEY still sell the ones 'that don't have FANS but know they do not connect and are dragging around hot plastic if they do WORK ? ..I FEEL getting the time to drag away until all warranty's are past ...nothing no RETURNS or support/minimal ? KNOW since Christmas I have been offered the same support verbatim on the Chat and Hours and $$$ and NOTHING to show for it.I need you to know I will not purchase another 3d printer from Silhouette. and The fact is I TOLD YOU WHY!
